(Pulled Pork Sandwich, Baked Beans, Mac-n-Cheese, Cookie & Bottle of Water)Hello Cinco Family,
As most of you have already heard, our Vacation Bible School
week was a huge success. Our attendance was good, energy
was obvious, and everyone seemed to have really enjoyed the
entire experience. Just having VBS after a year and three
months of COVID-19 craziness was a blessing. Both kids and
adults alike expressed joy to just be in a VBS environment.
We thank The Lord for His grace that allowed us to do
something we love, which is provide a fun, safe, Christ-
centered place for people, especially kids, to spend some of
their valuable time. That something is VBS! Thanks to Ms. Bible Study
Kelly and a whole team of people who made the week such a fantastic experience
for everyone! We are already looking forward to VBS 2022!
New 8-week Men’s Bible Study
July 4th falls on a Sunday this year. We are planning a special worship service that beginning Monday, July 12 thru
morning aimed at honoring America and glorifying The Lord. Now, we certainly Monday, August 30
do not worship the nation, but we see no conflict in honoring our wonderful 6:30PM – Kidd Street Center
country that has been so richly blessed by God. Worship is reserved for God
alone, period. We all gladly accept and stand on that truth. Please come on Forensic Faith by J. Warner Wallace
July 4th at 10:00 a.m. and let us enjoy the day together. See the front of this Facilitator: Tyler Hildebran
newsletter edition for more July 4th details. (Chili dinner provided on July 12 at 6PM)
That is all for now. Keep the faith and keep in touch! No Bible Study on July 5.

2WILDERS WORDS
Lions & Tigers & Giants, Oh My!
We've all heard the story of David & Goliath a hundred times. A shepherd boy fights a giant, saves
thousands of lives and becomes king! It would make a great Disney movie if it weren't for the people
getting their heads chopped off, the adultery and all the murder and such. We all remember the epic
rock sling that took down a giant but what I want to talk about today is what actually led to the
showdown with Goliath and how it relates to us. Being a shepherd wasn't as easy going and boring as
it sounds. Shepherds, of course, have to feed the flock, shear their wool and keep them where they're
supposed to be but they also have to protect their flock from lions, bears, wolves and other predators.
David probably encountered hundreds of dangerous predators over the course of his life and I imagine
he probably slung thousands of rocks both in practice and while protecting his sheep. He had no idea
what he was really practicing for until the time came to step up and defeat Goliath. I imagine he didn't
thank God every time he had the opportunity to face a lion or a wolf that was attacking, but God knew
that with each stone thrown, he was being prepared for what would ultimately change his life and make
history to be remembered until the end of time! In our lives, we all face exactly what David faced.
Sometimes our jobs can seem as boring and inconsequential as being a shepherd. Sometimes we face
attacks from predators and sometimes we face seemingly impossible giants. It's important to remember
that in the "boring" and seemingly purposeless seasons, to prepare. We prepare spiritually by reading
the Word, praying and worshipping. When the attacks come... and they will come... instead of saying
"Why God!?" or run and hide... take it as an opportunity to prepare and practice. Yes, sometimes it's
the enemy attacking us but sometimes God sends us lions to fight off because he knows there is a
Giant waiting around the corner and we need to be prepared and equipped to face it. None of us may
be destined to be a King or to be remembered for all of time... but we all have a calling and a destiny.
Unfortunately, many believers never fulfill their purpose because they are waiting for God to "anoint
them king" before they learn how to be a shepherd first. If David hadn't been a good shepherd, he
never would have been able to face Goliath and become king. We have to practice and prepare BEFORE
the giants come and BEFORE we can walk into our destiny.
So here is my prayer for us all today as a body of believers:
"Lord, send me the lions. Prepare me so I can face any giant and give me the strength to overcome
anything the enemy can throw at me. Give me opportunities to grow at every turn.
Challenge me and sharpen me so I can fulfill the destiny you've set before me.
No matter what season I'm in, no matter what trials I face, I know I can
do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me! Let me never grow
tired in the slow seasons, let me never grow complacent when things
are easy and let me never run from You or blame You when things
get hard. I put all of my faith, hope, and trust in You and You
alone. You are my shepherd and You are my King.
Thank You for preparing the way and keeping my path straight.
Amen."
