Our Reason for Being
Harford Family House, Inc. assists families with children,
and unaccompanied young adults achieve independency
through housing, support, and resources dedicated to
improving the financial stability and mental wellbeing of
its clients experiencing homelessness.
Where We Are Going
Harford Family House, Inc. is committed to building the
start-to-finish solution to end homelessness for families
with children and unaccompanied young adults in
Harford County.
Solution Highlights Include:

Consider for a moment what it would be like to experience homelessness in the midst of the
ongoing health and economic crisis that has impacted all of us. Did you know that in any
given year, there are close to 500 school age students enrolled in the Harford County public
schools who do not have a permanent place to call home?
For more than 30 years, Harford Family House has been providing children, and their parents,
along with unaccompanied young adults, the housing, resources and support needed for
success. We would not be able to do this without the help of our community- including you!
You can be the difference between a family sleeping in their car tonight or sleeping in a
safe environment surrounded by the support needed to improve their financial stability and
mental well being, leading to independency.
More than just supporting an event, Annual Sponsors will impact families and young adults
all year long. It costs approximately $25,000 to support a family or unaccompanied young
adult for one year. Year round services include housing, utilities, education in life skills,
individualized case management, financial literacy, summer camp activities, transportation
to and from work, year round activities for youth and families and so much more!
When you sponsor Harford Family House year round, you can be confident that your
donation stays local and is changing our community, one family, one life at a time. Your brand

Since 1989, Harford Family House has been successfully helping adults, including those exiting the foster care system. While we do

Harford Family House owns 32 units of housing, including:
22 Apartments located at 53 East Bel Air Avenue,
Aberdeen, MD
3 Apartments that have been converted to office space
7 duplexes, townhouses and single family homes
located in the community surrounding our offices
In addition, Harford Family House manages 7 additional rental
units in the community for the benefit of families experiencing
homelessness.
Each of these housing units, including the office spaces, have
ongoing maintenance needs. The main apartment building
which houses 22 apartments and our office space is a 57 year
old building. The last major renovations that were done to the
building and the apartments was completed in 2012.
The current maintenance/repair needs for each unit varies.
Some are in need of new appliances. Others need updates to
the bathroom or kitchen. Still others are in need of flooring.
Some of the properties in the community are in need of a roof.
The entire apartment building is in need of new windows, siding
and exterior repairs to existing balconies.
For as little as $1,000, you can sponsor some part of an
apartment.

Join us for our inaugural Off the Streets: A Sleep Out to Support Our Neighbors Experiencing
Homelessness where power meets purpose! Individuals, families, friends, colleagues, churches,
youth groups, organiza�ons and businesses are challenged to sleep outside for one night. This event
is not about pretending to be homeless, it’s a demonstra�on to those experiencing homelessness –
deciding that we can’t stay indoors while so many families remain outside. Par�cipants will raise
funds and awareness for Harford Family House and earn incen�ves along the way.
