Find Your Dream Job and Career!
From the conventional to the unconventional, students will get access to over 50
different jobs and careers from the over 160 that we have!
Students will:
• Be transported to the high-flying corporate world of business, to the
creative stage & to the foundational jobs that help to build our country
• Learn from experts in their fields
• Get to practically experience these jobs, so they can see if it’s something
they like or not
• Expand their skillset and street-smart intelligence by being exposed to and
doing these different jobs
• Gain empathy and understanding for people in different fields of work and
interest.
In the workplace currently, employers are expecting their employees to have a
variety of knowledge skillsets, as well as an expanded viewpoint!
Students will experience up to 60 different careers/jobs from more than 160
options (see next page for full list), based on choices by the student individually
and the group as a whole. Students then select a few of their favourites to
experience in more detail near the end of the course in job shadowing &
internships to narrow down their search for that dream career. The course
focuses on independence and aims to empower students so they will be
encouraged to initiate these activities by themselves, with some assistance from
Gap Year Course staff. We also open to any ideas, career suggestions, or input
from the students about what they would like to experience on the course.
