Distributor Welding Fundamentals Training
Course Overview
This distributor training program covers general welding process
fundamentals for the five main arc welding processes; SMAW, GTAW,
GMAW, FCAW & SAW. The focus of this course is process knowledge while
also covering Lincoln Electric products related to each process. The program
is 50% classroom instruction and 50% hands-on.
Attendees
The course is designed for new distributor personnel in the welding
industry or those who want to increase their general welding knowledge
and welding skills.

Basic Filler Metal Distributor Training
Course Overview
A distributor training program that covers the basics of metallurgy
and the array of products Lincoln offers for Mild Steel, Aluminum
and Stainless Steel solutions. Each day will be focused on a different
base metal. Welding processes covered include SMAW, GTAW, SAW,
GMAW and FCAW. The core focus of this class will be on the basics of
metallurgy, what differentiates one base metal from one another, and
the importance of proper filler metal selection. The program will be
approximately 50% classroom and 50% hands-on.
Attendees
Those attending should have a good understanding on the fundamen-
tals of arc welding processes and a desire to increase their knowledge
of filler metals.

Intermediate Distributor Training
Course Overview
A distributor product knowledge training program covering the
features, advantages and benefits for equipment and consumables
involved in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and Engine Drives. This “Out of the
Box” training will allow all participants to set-up equipment from the
box/crate just as a customer would receive it. The participants will
also weld and demonstrate using these products. The program is
30% classroom instruction and 70% hands-on.
Attendees
This course is designed for distributor personnel in the welding indus-
try with a good welding process background who need more product
knowledge and demonstration skills.

Advanced Filler Metal Distributor Training
Course Overview
A distributor product knowledge course covering advanced alloys and
hardfacing. The class will take a look at the many alloy solutions Lincoln
offers and how to apply these solutions to real-world industrial scenar-
ios with not only filler metals, but advanced equipment. These scenar-
ios will be supplemented with hands on demonstrations. Hardfacing’s
proper uses and proper selection will also be discussed in depth as well
as demonstrated with hands on lab time. The class will be approxi-
mately 50% hands on and 50% classroom.
Attendees
Those attending this course should already have a good understanding
of basic mild steel, aluminum and stainless steel metallurgy but want to
learn about advances in alloy technologies.

Distributor Honors Course
Course Overview
The four week Honors Course is designed to teach distributor sales
personnel how to weld and apply welding cost reduction practices. The
course includes more than 100 hours of welding time. The majority of
the classroom time is focused on learning how to accurately cost out a
weld as well as how to increase productivity when performing a weld.
Attendees
The intended audience is distributor sales personnel targeted as key
resources for the future of your organization. Attendees will receive an
in-depth exposure to welding techniques, processes and technologies as
well as cost reduction audit and selling practices.
Length
20 Days – 1 week each month for 4 months

Registration Information
Register online for all Lincoln Electric training courses,
including Professional Seminars, Distributor Training
Programs, Service School Courses, Robotic Training 2
Courses, and Welding School Courses.
How To Register
Register for all courses with a few simple steps:
Go to the Lincoln Electric website at
www.education.lincolnelectric.com

1. Create a User Login by clicking the Student Login
link at the top right of the registration homepage.
2. Select the Click Here link under the Create a new
Customer Account heading on the right side of the
page, then use that newly created sign in to log in
on the left side of the page.
3. Return to the home page, then select a catalog to
find a course to register for, either by scrolling over

the Find a Course menu bar and clicking Course
Catalogs OR selecting one of the course catalogs
listed at the bottom of home page.
4. To find more information about a course, click the
MORE link under Course Description title, to see the
sections for a course, click the Course Number (i.e.
DIST304). To sign up for a section, click the cart icon
on the far right side of the section line description.

5. Once a section has been selected and added to your
cart, scroll to the top of the page and click the cart
icon on the upper right, next to your log-in name, to
check out.

6. On the next page, verify your item(s) and either click
the Remove or Check Out button to continue

7. Answer how you heard about the class(es) you’ve 7
signed up for and click Next button.
8. If signing up for a Distributor course (as shown
below) and customer is paying with Marketing
Discretionary Funds, due amount should remain
zero (customer will be asked if they’re using MDF
before completing registration, see Step 10) and
click Submit Order button.
a. If distributor is NOT paying with MDF, then they

should add in the cost of the cost listed to the left
into the due amount text box and click Submit Order
button.
b. If signing up for a non-Distributor course, the Due
Amount listed will be the registration fee (the
minimum the amount required to complete the
transaction), while still allowing the customer
to make an additional course fee payment, once
finished, click Submit Order button. 9
9. If NOT paying with MDF, clicking Submit Order will
prompt customer to see the same screen with a
Make Payment button replacing the Submit Order
button, which they need to click to route them to
the Credit Card payment screen shown below
10. Once paid OR If paying with MDF only, customer will
see an Order Confirmation screen and need to click 10
Continue to Next Step button
11. If customer is signing up for a Distributor course,
they must answer the following questions and click
the Submit button. If the customer is signing up for
a non-Distributor course, they’ll skip this step and
be routed to the Order Completed screen in Step 12

12. Once order has been completed, customer can click
Continue to Other Shopping button to navigate the
rest of the site.
