Customized Learning Time (CL)
CL is a time for students to complete schoolwork or to seek additional
help from their classroom teachers. Teachers can also use CL time as
an extension of their classroom learning activities or as a resource
when designing individual learning expectations for their students.

➢ Occurs twice a week
➢ 30 minutes
➢ Students need to be in a current teacher’s classroom for the full CL
  period
➢ During CL, the MPR will be an available learning space for a
  designated grade each week, for students to work individually or in
  small groups

JumpstART is a thematically integrated enriched Humanities/Fine
Arts program offered only at Gleneagle.

  •   always drawing, doodling or thinking visually all the
      time?

  To apply, you must submit a course selection form and complete the
  online application at www.jumpstartgleneagle.ca by March 13th.
Required Courses
Everyone takes:
➢      Math 9 or Math 9 Honours
➢      Science 9 or Science 9 Honours
For Math and Science, you have the option to choose the regular
class OR an Honours class.
*Honours classes cover the regular curriculum at a faster pace,
allowing time for more in-depth study, enriched activities and
challenge opportunities
*The Honours course will only happen if there are enough requests
to run the class
Entrance into Honours
       1. Students choose the desired honours course/s
          on their course selection sheet.
       2. Student selection will be determined by
previous academic performance.
     3. Grade 8 subject teacher initials their approval
on your course selection sheet.

*If you choose Band 9 as an elective, your PHE class will be every
second day all year, and alternate with your Band class

This course does not take up a block in your timetable. The
curriculum is delivered through special assemblies, presentations and
online assignments. It covers Personal Development, Connections to
the Community, and Life and Career Plan.
