Personal Tutor Briefing
APRIL 2020OFFICIAL (CLOSED) , SENSITIVE (NORMAL)
Personal Tutorship Network (PTN)
Under the Personal Tutorship Network (PTN) Scheme, each student enrolled in SP is
assigned a Personal Tutor, who is usually their lecturer for the first year of his/ her
course. The scheme aims to help new students transit smoothly into a new learning
environment.
Second and third year full-time students will also continue to receive PTN support.
Students can approach their Personal Tutors for assistance on personal problems or
studies. To facilitate bonding, Personal Tutors organise group gatherings, with
funding from SP, for students under their charge.
Don't be afraid to approach your tutors for help. They are always willing to lend a
listening ear or a helping hand.OFFICIAL (CLOSED) , SENSITIVE (NORMAL)

In view of the heightened risk of importation of COVID-19 cases into Singapore,
additional precautionary measures are implemented.
Travel Restrictions
All Students Currently in Singapore
If you are currently in Singapore, do not travel overseas, unless there are strong reasons to
do so e.g., family emergencies. Disciplinary action will be taken if you leave the country
without strong reasons, while travel restrictions are in place.
International Students on Student Pass (STP)
STP Holders planning to enter Singapore from any country must obtain approval from
Singapore’s Ministry of Education (MOE) before commencing their journey. If permission is
granted, they will be issued an approval letter of entry by MOE that is valid for two weeks.OFFICIAL (CLOSED) , SENSITIVE (NORMAL)
COVID-19 measures
The approval of entry must be produced to the airline staff upon check-in, and to the
immigration officer at the checkpoints upon arrival in Singapore. Anyone arriving in
Singapore without the approval letter of entry from MOE, will be required to return to the last
port of embarkation within 48 hours, at their own cost. Failure to comply will result in
Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) cancelling the STP.
STP holders who have yet to return to Singapore, should apply through Singapore Polytechnic
(SP) and inform of your travel plans if you have not already done so. Please fill in details of
application here: https://form.gov.sg/5e815af93b146a001108b256 (using Chrome).
SP will submit the information to MOE to seek entry approval and will email you upon
approval which will not be immediate.
