separations) and by working on renewable resources
(biomass and CO2). VITO is also the founder of a large
research program in collaboration with the sustainable
chemical industry strategy of Flanders on lignin
valorisation via either lignin application development,
either lignin depolymerisation, fractionation and
subsequent de- and refunctionalisation for many different
applications in cooperation with the Flemish universities,
BBEU and several chemical or material companies. There

side stream, technologies for lignin production,
