                The Sands SkyPark Observation Deck unveils ‘Movies in The Sky’ on 9 June

SINGAPORE (27 May 2022) – Come 9 June, visitors to the SkyPark Observation Deck will be
able to revel in an unparalleled cinematic experience 56 storeys above ground, as Cinewav, Klook
and Marina Bay Sands present Movies in the Sky, a new series of enthralling movie screenings
set against the backdrop of Singapore’s distinctive skyline. Tickets are now available for booking
via leading travel and leisure e-commerce platform Klook.

As part of a collaboration with Singapore's leading outdoor cinema start-up Cinewav, Movies in
the Sky will ensure a cinematic experience like no other, with magnificent panoramic views and
immersive audio. This unique movie experience will feature an array of popular and internationally
acclaimed titles across June and July to transport guests into a realm of cinematic splendour
under the stars.

Klook. Set atop the iconic SkyPark Observation Deck, this will be an outdoor cinema like no other.
We are offering our visitors a chance to watch some of their favourite blockbuster films, with

Experience cinematic splendour under the stars at the iconic Sands SkyPark Observation Deck
experience, Movies in the Sky is a major new programme for the SkyPark Observation Deck,
which underscores the evergreen attraction as a leading lifestyle destination. Our programmes at
the SkyPark encourage us to envisage our urban spaces in a magical light. Movies in the Sky
exemplifies Marina Bay Sands’ commitment to revitalise our entertainment offerings as
international travel resumes, and our passion for film, launching at the same time as we unveil a
brand-new cinema at ArtScience Museum,” said Honor Harger, Vice President of Attractions at

Towering 56 storeys above ground, the SkyPark Observation Deck is a popular stop for both
international visitors and locals. Home to one of the world’s largest public cantilevers, the
architectural masterpiece boasts an exclusive event venue atop Marina Bay Sands’ hotel towers.

Standing at the forefront of immersive outdoor screenings, Cinewav utilises a world-first
technology to transform novel event spaces into cinematic utopias for moviegoers. Movies in the
Sky unveils a new chapter of unique movie screenings, where audiences are invited to bring along
their own headphones to connect to high quality audio that plays in sync with the big screen.
Viewers can lounge in Nine.N’s custom-designed recliner floor sofas and experience an intimate
cinematic concept beyond conventional theatre walls.

“The aim of Cinewav is to bring cinema to amazing spaces. I can't think of a more amazing space
than the SkyPark Observation Deck at Marina Bay Sands. I dare say it will be one of the highest
rooftop cinemas in the world with perhaps the most breathtaking view. By providing immersive
HD audio through personal smartphones, audiences will be immersed in the true spirit of cinema:

Movies in the Sky will screen a total of 12 movies in June and July at 8.30pm every Thursday,
Friday, and Saturday. Visitors to the Observation Deck can purchase light bites and beverages
from CÉ LA VI’s kiosk located right next to the screenings between 4pm and 10.30pm from
Wednesdays to Fridays.

Ticketing information
Tickets to Movies in the Sky are priced at S$48 each and include entry to the SkyPark
Observation Deck, worth S$26.
Tickets are exclusively available for booking on Klook’s online ticketing platform and admission
is limited to 100 people per screening. Guests are strongly encouraged to pre-purchase tickets
online prior to their visit, due to limited availability.

          Marvel Studios’ "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" stars Simu Liu as
          Shang-Chi, who must face the past he thought he left behind and confront his father,
          leader of the dangerous Ten Rings organisation. The film also stars Awkwafina as
          Shang-Chi’s friend Katy, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen, and Florian Munteanu, with

11 June   The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014)

          The Hundred-Foot Journey is a culturally rich film that depicts the treacherous quest of
          an extraordinarily talented culinary novice from native India. Set in a quaint French
          village after chef Hassan Kadam was forced to flee political violence in his homeland,

16 June   Jimami Tofu (2017)

          International Film Festival, Jimami Tofu is a Singaporean-Japanese film that features
          traditional Okinawan cuisine and an epic journey of love. A specialty of the Okinawa
          prefecture, Jimami tofu, or peanut tofu, is at the heart of the debut feature film that
          draws attention to Okinawa and its neighbourly culture.
17 June   Hidden Figures (2016)

          Running Time: 127 minutes | PG

          The incredible, untold yet true story of a brilliant group of women who changed the
          foundations of the country for the better –by aiming for the stars. The film recounts the
          vital history of an elite team of black female mathematicians at NASA who helped win
          the all-out space race against America’s rivals in the Soviet Union and, at the same
          time, sent the quest for equal rights and opportunity rocketing forwards.

18 June   Free Guy (2021)

          Running Time: 115 minutes | PG-13

          Ryan Reynolds stars in this action-packed comedy as a mild-mannered bank teller
          named Guy, who learns he’s really a background character in an open-world video
          game. Every day, Guy is under assault by players and objects within the game, where
          he’s robbed, hit by cars, and otherwise mistreated as a “non-playing character” (NPC).
          To make matters worse, the game’s owner has decided to end the game. Teaming
          with a woman (Jodie Comer) who’s both a human and a character in the game, Guy
          decides to become the hero of his own story. Now, in a world where there are no
          limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way before it’s too late.

23 June   Spider-man: No Way Home (2021)

          For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood
          hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high stakes
          of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become
          even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.
24 June   The Fault in Our Stars (2014)

30 June   The Greatest Showman (2017)

1 July   Little Women (2019)

         Running Time: 135 minutes | PG-13

         Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on
         both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the
         author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life. In Gerwig’s
         take, the beloved story of the March sisters – four young women each determined to
         live life on her own terms -- is both timeless and timely. Portraying Jo, Meg, Amy, and
         Beth March, the film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza
         Scanlen, with Timothee Chalamet as their neighbour Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee,
         and Meryl Streep as Aunt March.

2 July   The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011)

         Running Time: 124 minutes | PG-13

         The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a British comedy-drama film based on the 2004
         novel These Foolish Things by novelist Deborah Moggach, which follows the journey
         of a group of British pensioners as they move to a retirement hotel in India. The film
         became a box-office hit following its international release in 2012 and was lauded for
         its bittersweet comedy by seasoned cast members.
