every student enrolling is required by German law (SGB V) to have a statutory
health/care insurance
about: 90,00 €/month health insurance
+19,79 €/month care insurance
110,00 €/month (combined)
This does not apply if you:
• are an EU student your home insurance is sufficient (EHIC card)
• are 30 years or older take a voluntary, statutory health insurance
• have a private insurance exemption certificate is needed; issued by a

if you don‘t pay semester contribution, you won‘t become student (get student
status)
make sure the reference field follows exactly the example given below:

Apply for residence permit before your visa expires
make an appointment with the foreigners office!!!
Charges: first-time applicants 100,00 € (for one year)
110,00 € (> 1 year)
Proof of sufficient financial means (853,- €/month or 10.236,- €/year)
via blocked account, grant/scholarship, (german) bank guarantee,
guarantee of a person living in germany
The resident permit for students also expires, get a new one in time!!!
