Planet Fitness
Planet Fitness Response to Closure
Members’ fees:
Upon the closures of Planet Fitness clubs in March, all members’ accounts were frozen and the
company communicated to members that they would not be charged any fees while the clubs
were closed. This includes monthly membership dues and annual fees. In the second half of
March, the company’s member count was not materially changed due to cancellations.

Digital options:
The company accelerated its number of digital initiatives, including its United We Move
marketing campaign. The initiatives include daily 20-minute or less live workouts on Facebook
launched on March 16. These workouts have featured Planet Fitness trainers and special celebrity
guests, such as the New England Patriots football player Julian Edelman; “The Biggest Loser”
trainer Erica Lugo and actor Jerry O'Connell. These workouts have averaged more than 100,000
views per workout and 4.5 billion media impressions. The workouts are then posted on YouTube,
and the company’s YouTube subscribers have increased 229 percent since the temporary closings.
The videos have more than 10 million views. People also are encouraged to download the Planet
Fitness App for access to more than 500 exercises that can be done at home with minimal or no
equipment. As a result, the company has seen a 173 percent increase in average daily workouts on
its mobile app.

LA Fitness
LA Fitness Response to Closure
Temporarily closed all clubs to the public until further notice
Suspended billings until one or more clubs in each member’s market reopens

LA Fitness on Reopening:
Georgia governor gave the green light to open gyms on April 24th, LA Fitness had plans to reopen
on May 1st but on April 30th, the company decided against that idea.In an email to patrons, LA
Fitness said, “Our guidance on how we proceed throughout this pandemic is to do what is best for
our members and our employees. So, although we had originally set a target date of May 1 for our
first market reopening, specifically Georgia, we decided to hold off for now while we seek a
greater consensus between the federal, state and local authorities on the proper path forward.
Also, we have received many emails and phone calls from members and want you to know we are
listening and taking what you say into consideration.

“As soon as we see a clearer indication that the time is right, we will notify you of our plans to
reopen. Rest assured, your membership will remain on a complimentary freeze – no billing
(including billing for any personal training, HIIT by LAF and Kid’s Klub, if applicable) will occur
until then. In the meantime, we will complete our club reconfiguration, which includes spacing
equipment to respect social distancing and accommodate reduced capacity of around 30%
initially. We also continue to implement new cleaning protocols, additional disinfectant and
sanitization supplies and employee training to provide you with a setting in which you can safely
return to your workout routine.”

Open Locations
As of Wednesday May 13th, all LA Fitness locations remain closed

                                                                                     PAGE 7
Statement & FAQs from their Website:

"We are deeply concerned for the health of our members and employees during this COVID 19
crisis. We feel it is our responsibility to do what we can to reduce the spread of the virus, and
with that as our guide we have made the difficult decision to close all of our LA Fitness, City
Sports Clubs and Esporta Fitness clubs to the public until further notice. We know that the
closing of these clubs has made things difficult for you too. We encourage you to continue to
exercise from home and we look forward to the clubs reopening soon.
We are keeping a staff on-hand to answer calls and emails. Wait times may be longer than
normal, so we appreciate your patience"
