Live Army Green
The Department of Defense has a mandated energy
conservation program for families living in on post housing
known as Live Army Green.
Purpose of the Program:
• Conserve our natural resources and reduce our nation's
dependence on foreign oil.
• Re-invest energy savings into housing projects for
improved housing renovations, community centers,
playgrounds, resident activities, etc.
• Reward Soldiers for their successful contribution to the
conservation effort.

How it works:
• Each resident of privatized housing will receive a utility
consumption baseline determined by the average usage of
similar homes.
• The established average baseline is automatically
accounted for by the utility component of the BAH.
• Residents who consume less than the baseline will be
rewarded for their conservation efforts.
• Residents who consume more than the baseline will be
responsible for the difference between their consumption
and the baseline.

The way ahead:
• Residents are required to make timely payments on the monthly
electric bills they receive
• Currently there is an outstanding balance of over $60,287 which
impacts our ability to provide quality services and amenities to our
residents.
• In accordance with State of Georgia rental law, unpaid utilities that
are paid by the landlord, in this case Balfour Beatty, may be
deducted from the rent amount.
• The allotment will be applied to the outstanding utility YES amount
over thirty days which will result in your rent being unpaid.
• If you feel your electric billing is incorrect, please contact the
Community Management office to schedule an energy audit, have
the meter inspected or to review your bill

This program provides children every Thursday throughout the school year
with two nutritious meals and snacks to help with weekend food insecurities.
Thanks to the generosity of the Landings Military Family Relief Fund, United
Way of the Coastal Empire, Liberty County is expanding its reach to the
schools on Fort Stewart starting in the 2018-2019 school year.
Further details to come regarding referral guidelines and process according to
DODEA guidelines.

its’ administrative role of the Landings Military Relief Fund from its’ current
administrative organization, the American Red Cross.
