GandhiGoingGlobal.comOn October 2, 1869, it was not just a person who was born in
Porbandar, but an era was born. If we look at Gandhiji’s life and his
teachings, then we will be able to find solutions to the problems
that the world faces today. I firmly believe that Mahatma Gandhi is
as relavant today as he was during his time.

On 2nd October 2017, people across the world celebrated the 148th birth anniversary of
Mahatma Gandhi and the Gandhian Society of Edison, New Jersey made a vow to promote
Gandhian philosophy, all across United States of America and instill it in the heads, hearts
and hands of the future generations through a campaign called Gandhi Going Global (G3).
It is a two-year long, action-based international campaign, aimed at educating and inspiring
everyone, who visits G3 to experience, within themselves, an evolution of the soul and live
as newly awakened citizens who will carry Gandhi with and within them.
We want to create an experience that motivates the youth of USA to evolve
into change-makers who will lead by example and spread the message of
non-violence, work to eradicate discrimination and implement Gandhian
methodology & philosophy to uplift all of humanity

• As a first step, the campaign was announced LIVE on TV ASIA (North America’s 24/7
information & entertainment cable television channel) and on Social media with an
invitation to all to join the movement.
• The second step will be to conduct activity based workshops in 400+ universities &
100+ high schools, where students will understand some of Gandhiji’s principles such
as non-violence, communal harmony and self-discipline and select their area or field to
apply that learning and in the process, stimulat others to explore their own truth.
• Programs like community engagement, shift to self-reliance, ‘No guns-No Violence’
Street Plays, Prabhat Feri (morning prayers), elocution and essay competitions will run
continuously throughout the year.
Non-violence is not a weapon of the weak.
It is a weapon of the strongest and the bravest.

The Celebration
The campaign ‘Gandhi Going Global’ will culminate as a celebration in its first year on the
18th and 19th of August 2018. On these days, a huge mass of people from India and USA
will come together and celebrate the 149th birth anniversary of the Mahatma - Mohandas
Karamchand Gandhi, in one of the largest convention halls of New Jersey, USA. More than
50 NGOs and 100+ universities & schools will participate in this event and 25,000+
visitors are expected to visit the Expo during these two days.
The Display
• Display of replicas of rare memorabilia by Gandhi Research Foundation, Sabarmati
Ashram and National Gandhi Museum
• Display and distribution of books & literature on Gandhi by various organizations
• Screening footage of Gandhiji’s life and his public addresses
• Patriotic & cultural programs by leading artists in music and dance
• Exhibition of Khadi, handicrafts as well as Gandhi souvenirs
• Exhibiting Dr. Martin Luther King’s work and his contribution to American society

The Commitment
The celebration Gandhi Going Global 2018 will end with the commitment to carry Gandhi
with us and within us. The Gandhi museum and memorabilia replicas will travel to many
universities in America, Canada and Mexico to motivate the young generation.

Gandhian Society is a non-political, non-profit organization, founded by
like-minded people who carry Gandhiji within their head, heart and hands.
The objective of Gandhian Society is to spread Gandhian philosophy across the

The true vision of Gandhian Society is to make the thoughts of Gandhiji
