General Description

   The Dehydrators GOBI77 are automatic regeneration equipments, designed to protect
coaxial cable systems with limitless capacity (suggested up to 3600 liters). Able to supply ≥
0,58 SCFM or 990 Nl/h of dry air at a working pressure set in the range of 25 ÷ 40 kPa (other
range on request min. 5 max 60 kPa).

   The functioning principle of automatic regeneration is based on the alternating use of two
pumps and two sections of desiccant tanks. The air, taken in by the pump, is dehydrated trough
the desiccant tanks and then compressed in order to have a pressure for the pressurization of
the cables.

   By means of a pressure regulator, a safety valve and some sampling instruments as a
pressure gauge, a humidity indicator, etc., the pressure is reduced and the dew point of the air
inflated into the cables is under control. The Flowmeters detect in real time the status of the air
leakages of the system.

  The automatic regeneration system is equipped with two sections, each of them containing
one pump and two desiccant tank. The tanks hold a non-toxic chemical salt able to keep the
humidity of the air and then to discharge it through heating. A timer manages the alternation
between the two sections in order to regenerate the salts of two tanks while the other
dehydrates the air. The exchange happens every three hours for only 45 minutes of heating to
have always the guarantee of the dry air available.

  Through the restrictions for the regeneration of salts, and working in pressostatic
mode, the system continues to exchange air with the cables. This air exchange allows
constantly to wash the cables that might contain moisture.

  The equipment have two air compressors at operation alternately to guarantee a
double duration and avoid the use of solenoid valves (cause of many failures).

   The pumps are diaphragm type, with movement to the connecting rod and rotation motor
without brushes. They have a low electrical input and don’t need break-away current. These
pumps are without lubrication, so there’s no risk of the pollution of the air taken in the guide.
Moreover since they work at low pressure, their wear and consequently their maintenance are
very limited (up to 30.000 hours).

   The dehydrator is equipped with a locking system pumps in the event of an abnormality of
the logic of the programmer. In this way, if one of the two pumps were to suck air from the
column in the regeneration phase, prevents the entry of humid air in the cables.

    A irreversible hours counter starts to count when the pumps are turned ON, so it shows the
total real time of functioning of the pumps.
