        6. PERSONAL FUNDRAISING PAGE
      GFAC delegates receive their own personal fundraising page on ipesd.org, and the page is
      generated upon registration. Delegates’ pages are personalized with their names, a photo,
      and defaulted content where they are able to begin accepting donations towards their
      program fees, immediately. PLEASE EMAIL PHOTO FOR USE AFTER COMPLETING REGISTRATION.

HOW IT WORKS
As soon as a delegate registers online (www.ipesd.org/girlsforachange) and pay their registration fee, IPESD
Admin will email a link to their individual fundraising page. The page is ready to use as-is, personalized with
delegate photo and name. A link to program information (itinerary, etc.) can also be viewed from each page
by clicking the appropriate button. Delegates are encouraged to share with their friends, families, and
network on their social media platforms; and forward their link in personal email messages. Note: The total
program fee is the default and maximum allowable individual fundraising goal.

In the provided example below, the delegate has received six (6) donations totaling $3,190. Each time an
additional donation is made, the donation amount, donation date, supporter’s name and message (if
applicable) are added to the list.

            Ademola, KiKi Clothing has been highlighted in Vogue Italia, Elle Italia, and Glamour
            Magazine; and has been worn by global favorites across red carpets and magazines
            spreads such as Academy Award Winning Actress Lupita Nyong’o, and country
            ambassadors. Exhibiting collections in Accra, Lagos, Mauritus, Johannesburg, as well as
            London and Rome, hear her story as a womenpreneur sourcing unique materials to hand-
            make her visions come true. Use your newly acquired Golden Girls Fashion Kit to learn how to
            take body measurements for clothing that will be used to make your own custom piece.
       •    The Souls of Black Folks: A Pan-African welcome reception. Representatives from the African
            Union’s Diaspora African Forum (DAF) will host us at the W.E.B. DuBois Center for Pan African
            Culture. Take a look at the week ahead while enjoying introductory, traditional Ghanaian

       cuisine. Learn common words and phrases in the local language (Twi) and country customs;
       discuss DAF programs around the world before touring the home where Dr. DuBois spent his
       last years. The Marcus Garvey House and the African American Association of Ghana
       (AAAG) are also on site.
   •   Home Sweet Home. Enjoy a variety of Ghanaian sweet treats, pool-side.

Day 3: Saturday, July 4, 2020*meals included: breakfast, dinner
Lodging: The African Regent Hotel
   •   Accra City Tour. Our local guide will take us on a driving tour of Ghana’s capital including
       visits to major historical sites: Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Independence Square, Black
       Star Square, and Jamestown. The day provides for a great opportunity to explore, learn
       history, and get to know some of the Districts that make up Accra.
   •   The Center for National Culture & Arts Center. The cacophony of business interactions, get
       lost in the market and try your hand at bargaining for an authentic Ghanaian experience.
   •   Lunch on own in East Legon.
   •   African Batiking: Sustainable Production. Learn more about this ancient “resist” art process
       for making designs on fabric from start to finish. Create designs of your own coupled with
       Adinkra symbols. Adinkra symbols are traditional visual symbol that represent concepts or
       original thoughts such as: friendship, prosperity, health, or wealth. Choose your favorites for a
       unique gift.
   •   Genesis to Revelation: A high-end fashion and bridal couture lesson. Quophi Akotuah
       Fashion Academy (QAFA) is a fashion school aimed at producing top-notch, world-class
       designers to enrich our (Black/African) world of fashion. Through creativity, skill, and unlimited
       imagination, QAFA boasts preparing the next generation of leadership in the fashion and
       design industries. Meet Michael Akotuah Addo, Quophi Akotuah Ghana Creative Director,
       who will take us through the entire design process and his experiences as one of the most
       sought after designers on the Continent at just 24 years of age.
   •   Dinner at Buka Restaurant. Enjoy a West African smorgasbord of a variety of Ghanaian,
       Nigerian, Ivorian, and Togolese dishes.

          o Global Mama’s : partnered with Shea butter Production Center in Tamale, Global
             Mamas produces Global Shea Butter where women not only have their wages
             doubled, but a portion of the sales go towards the Shea Helps Empower (SHE) Fund.
          o Woodin Fabrics of Vlisco Group : The Vlisco Group and their fabrics have grown into
             an essential part of African culture with a portfolio consisting of four brands: Vlisco,
             Woodin, Uniwax and GTP. Woodin by Vlisco is some of the most beautiful West
             African fabric and incredibly popular. Designed and produced in Ghana, the fabric

           o   Christie Brown: Behind the Fashion : Christie Brown is a Ghanaian based luxury
               women’s fashion brand founded by Creative Director Aisha Obuobi-Ayensu. Classy
               and trendy, she’s known as the designer who made a mark on the world stage when
               she designed Beyoncé and her dancers’ stage costumes for the “Mrs. Carter Show”;
               and the woman behind the fashion of hit TV and web series, An African City – the
               story of five beautiful, successful African females return to their home continent
               navigating life and love.
   •   Lunch.
   •   Artisanal Exploration at Wild Gecko – view and shop traditional boutique boasting
       innovative, handcrafted jewelry, clothing, carvings, furniture, household decorations and
       accessories. Some of the most unique in the world!
   •   Dinner.

Day 5: Monday, July 6, 2020*meals included: breakfast, dinner
Lodging: Coconut Grove Beach Resort
   •   Travel to Assin Manso.
   •   Last Bath. Assin Manso was the site of the largest slave market for merchants supplying slaves
       to the forts and castles on the coast. Tour this historic site, see the Slave Market, River, and
       Cemetery; and hear from our guide about this final link in the slavery route from Northern
       Ghana.
   •   Village Life – Etsi Bosomodwe, village of Chief Odeneho Krobah Agyman Kagya. Take a short
       walking tour of the Chief’s village before participating in a variety of service projects
       including: classroom visits and activities with primary students, book donations and
       beautification to the village’s newly built library.
   •   Travel to Cape Coast/Elmina.
   •   Central Region Welcome. Evening dinner and traditional bamboo percussion performance
       hosted by Bismark Amoah and the local Kukyekukyeky Bamboo Orchestra.

Day 6: Tuesday, July 7, 2020*meals included: breakfast, walking tour street food, dinner

   •   Sao Jorge da Mina (St. George Elmina) Castle. Explore the earliest European construction in
       the Gulf of Guinea, and the oldest slave castle in sub-Saharan Africa.
       Elmina Township Walking Tour. Boasting a massive fish industry, tourism, and economic
       development, experience Elmina’s history and culture first-hand. Navigate traditional
       posuban shrines, merchant houses, fishing harbors, and more. Hear stories and philosophies
       behind it all.
   •   Cape Coast University Tour.
   •   Home Again: Through the Doors of No Return & Back. Ghana’s most notorious slaving fort,

       Cape Coast Castle is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the West African
       Historical Museum. Tour this historic site, see the Door of No Return, and hear from our guide
       about the slave trade in Ghana as it relates to Africans in the Diaspora.
   •   “Wo den de sen?”. (Re)naming ceremony where “soul names” will be received.
   •   Born Again. Dinner, drumming, and dance alongside a roaring born fire, and the crashing
       waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 7: Wednesday, July 8, 2020*meals included: breakfast, lunch
Lodging: Golden Tulip Kumasi City
   •   Early morning resort activities.
   •   Kakum National Park & Canopy Walk. Look out for plants, birds, and butterflies on a 2km walk
       through this tropical rainforest. Then, enjoy the park from above on spectacular treetop-level
       canopy walkways.
   •   Lunch
   •   Travel to Kumasi, Ghana
       Arrive in the ancient capital of the Ashanti Kingdom, one of the oldest cities not only in
       Ghana, but Africa. Also known as the Garden City, Kumasi is the leading cultural center in
       West Africa and home to the palace of the Asantehene.
   •   Dinner on own at hotel.

Day 8: Thursday, July 9, 2020*meals included: breakfast, lunch
Lodging: Golden Tulip Kumasi City
   •   Kumasi City Tour featuring the Manhyia Palace, Kumasi Fort and Military Museum, and the
       Prempeh II Jubilee Museum.
   •   Continue to the Kumasi Centre for National Culture for tour and lunch.
   •   State of an Art: Ntonso the Adinkra Village. Adinkra are visual symbols that represent
       concepts of aphorisms native to the Akan and Gyaman people. Learn all about adinkra
       symbols, their meanings, printing process, and other indigenous handicrafts.
   •   Adanmowase Ecotourism Project. Led by master weavers, see first hand where and how the
       centuries old kente weaving tradition is done. Experience the entire value chain of kente
       from cotton bush to final piece of cloth, and try your hand at weaving on a double-heddle
       kente strip loom. As a bonus, we will continue to the chief’s palace and neighboring cocoa
       farm.

   •   National Commission on Culture: The Business of Kejetia Market. The Kumasi Central Market is
       Continental Africa’s largest open-air market and one of the most colorful mazes for sales and
       services in the world. With over 45,000 stores and stalls, find virtually everything in this very

   •   Safari Delight. Early rise private breakfast and driving safari through Mole National Park, the
       largest game reserve in the country. View animals such as elephants, waterbucks, krobs,
       bushbucks, hippopotamuses, warthogs, water buffalos, hyenas, and baboons.
   •   Larabanga Mosque. Built primarily from packed earth in Sudanese architectural style,
       Larabanga is Ghana’s oldest mosque, and one of the country’s most revered religious sites.
   •   Canoe Safari.

   •   Salaga Slave Markets & Wells: An oral history of the origin of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
       From this site, an estimated 25 to 30 million slaves from across West and Central Africa were
       prepared to be shipped off to plantations across the seas in the Americas, the Caribbean,
       and Europe.
   •   Evening activities TBD

                    •    Junior Achievement: Activating Africa’s Youth for the Future of Jobs. Junior Achievement (JA)
                         focuses on the economic empowerment of youth worldwide by bridging the gap between
                         what students learn in school and what they need to be successful professionals as
                         employees who add value to their employers or as entrepreneurs who create jobs for
                         themselves and others. JA Africa focuses on three key areas: Entrepreneurship, Work
                         Readiness, and Financial Literacy. Delegates will gain professional development as they
                         engage with students at a JA Company Program site.
                    •    Closing lunch reception.
                    •    Departure. Transfer to airport for check-in and final departure late night to United States.

accommodations are subject to the laws and regulations of the country in
which they are provided. IPESD is not responsible for any baggage or
personal effects of any individual participating in the tours / trips arranged by
IPESD. The coordinated travel insurance policy will cover expenses
associated with the loss of luggage or personal effects. Costs for this trip will
be approximately $5,995 per person for double occupancy and $6,795 per
person for single occupancy. The trip cost includes: round trip flight from
Washington D.C. (other cities may incur an additional fee); travel insurance;
one-way flight from Tamale to Accra, Ghana; visa cost and processing; air-
conditioned ground transportation within Ghana; sightseeing /activities
expenses and administration; 3-4 star hotel stays; daily breakfast, welcome
and closing receptions, various selected group lunches/meals, bottled water;
curated fashion history, education, marketing, entrepreneurial,          10
empowerment activities; and lots of spontaneous culture and fun!
