     Self-Defense and Safety Awareness
     (5-15 Years)

     This fun course is designed for self-defense purposes, empha-
     sizing child safety awareness. The children practice martial arts
     techniques to help them get out of dangerous situations. We

      DESCRIPTION: The skills learned in our lessons are easily applied to either figure skating or hockey. Your child will receive 50
      minutes of instruction each week. Come early to the first session: be at the Griff’s Georgetown Ice Center 20 minutes before
      the session starts. This allows time to fit skates, get class assignments, name tags, etc. All skaters must wear a helmet (hockey
      or bike). Dress warm, wear gloves. Wear only one pair of thin socks (you want the skates to fit). The focus and goals of our learn
      to skate curriculum are designed to teach beginner hockey players the fundamentals of skating. We will teach how to balance,
      bend, march forward, stride, how to get back up off the ice, agility, glide and more. We will run stations on the ice for the skaters

Lacrosse is often called “The Fastest Game on Two Feet”! It also happens to be one of the fastest growing sports in West Michigan.
Lacrosse is a sport that is played on the run, requires teamwork and develops a wide variety of skill sets. Our program works on the
basic fundamentals of passing, catching and moving with the ball, while developing strategic game strategies as the players get
older. Many of our volunteer coaches have received training from US Lacrosse and understand the importance of providing a
challenging and enjoyable playing experience for the young athletes. Grandville Youth Lacrosse offers programs for Girls and
Boys from Kindergarten thru 8th Grade.

  DESCRIPTION: Imagine a game that is a cross between tennis, ping pong and badminton. Sound strange? It is pickleball and it is the
  fastest-growing sport in the world. Come learn to play with a whiffle ball and a paddle on a badminton-sized court. Pickleball is designed
  for both men and women, no matter your age or physical limitation. You will get the hang of footwork, balance, scoring and all the funda-
  mentals. Wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Bring your own paddle or use a loaner paddle that will be provided.

  Each night a session of 8 players will play games rotating partners throughout. Your attendance is important to ensure game play. Subs

  Experience the total body fitness of swimming laps: cardio-
  vascular conditioning, muscle strength, muscle tone and relief
  from stress! Water walking is a great alternative to swimming
  laps. Participants move across the length of the pool in a vari-
  ety of ways. Shallow and deep ends of the pool are available
  to give you the workout you choose. A real advantage to deep
  water walking is that there is absolutely NO IMPACT! The
  combination of upper and lower body movements gives you a

AGE GROUP SWIM TEAM
The Grandville Bulldog Swimming (GBDS) program is designed to give children the opportunity to progress
from beginning swimming to championship levels. Your child will learn better stroke technique and gain
confidence in competition against others and learn swim vocabulary and etiquette.

SEASON BEGINS: May 9 and runs until July Championships (TBD)
