DROP-IN HOCKEY & SKATING PROGRAMS
16+ Drop-in Program Hockey
This non-contact recreational drop-in hockey program is a great
opportunity for players of all levels to participate three days a week.
Full hockey gear and CSA approved helmet is required. Participants
must sign in and pay at the reception area before playing.

55+ Drop-in Program Hockey/ 65+ Program Hockey
This non-contact recreational drop-in hockey program is a great
opportunity for players of all levels to participate three days a week.
(65+ players 2 days a week). 65+ players are welcome to warm up
on the ice from 9:30 - 9:45am. Full hockey gear and CSA approved
helmet is required. Participants must sign in and pay at the
reception area before playing.

Everyone Welcome & Leisure Skate
All ages welcome. Pond hockey is only available during designated
times. Discount rates are in effect during the leisure skate.

All ages welcome unless otherwise specified. A soft puck will be
used and a portion of the rink will be roped off for participants to
play pond hockey. All participants must bring a helmet from home
and wear it while playing. Don’t forget to bring your hockey stick!
Discount rates are in effect when pond hockey is scheduled on the
Leisure Ice.

Saturday Night Surprise Skates
Skate shop staff plan different special events on the 3rd Saturday of
each month. Skating, dancing, disco lights, games, prizes and more.

                    All Strathcona Gardens Learn to Skate and Hockey program participants are required to wear a CSA
                    approved hockey helmet or ski/snowboard helmet. This includes parent & tot lesson participants and
                    parents. Helmets are highly recommended for all participants during public sessions. All participants 13
                    years and older are strongly recommended to wear a CSA helmet while on the ice during public sessions.
                    NOTE: Bicycle helmets are not recommended.

                               Safe entries, surface support, floats and recovery in deep

                               CROCODILE
                               Changing direction in deep water, jumping into deep water,
                               surface support, calling for help, glides with kick, front and
                               back swims for 5m and a distance swim of 10m.
                               WHALE
                               Learn when and where it is safe to swim, jump into deep
                               water and tread water for 20 seconds, stop throw and call
