Our Business Service function is committed to having the right business support arrangements in place to meet the
Department’s current and future needs and following our recent review we have enhanced the existing structure to
ensure that we can achieve this aim.

The new structure has given rise to 7 Permanent and 3 Fixed Term Team Coordinator positions within our Children
Services, Business Services department.

These administrative roles work as integral parts of small teams supporting social workers, community care
workers, and practice supervisors. Post holders require excellent planning and organisational skills whilst
remaining flexible and supportive to others. An ability to gain knowledge of Derbyshire County Councils
administration practices and processes, council procedures, including an understanding of confidentiality, GDPR &
Data Protection is required along with excellent ICT.

The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of a range of business services activities for the team, for
example preparing and processing financial and business forms for the purpose of facilitating payments and
purchases, booking meetings and appointments, record of meetings, typing of letters and documents, running
regular data reports for analysis, supporting with client related systems, being a point of contact via telephone for
families whilst ensuring that objectives, targets and timescales are met. They will have the ability to drive their own
and the team’s performance.

The successful candidates must have excellent customer service skills to build and maintain substantial
relationships with our young people, Social Workers, external agencies and partners.

The post holders will support Social Workers with daily tasks (please refer to the job description) and work
alongside the Management Team in monitoring performance and practice to drive the service forward to achieve
the best outcomes for our young people and improve the operational efficiency, quality of the service.

Experience of working in a busy environment and working on your own initiative would be an advantage.

The 10 Team Co-ordinator positions available within our Children Services Business Services Department, are
located within the following areas:

Post 1 – Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children & Care Leavers, The Pod, Chesterfield - 37 hours per week -
permanent. “Working with Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children and Care Leavers, the successful applicant
will build and maintain trusting relationships with young people and families whilst providing excellent administrative
support to Social Workers, Leaving Care Workers and Team Managers.”

Post 2 & 3 – Early Help & Safeguarding (Social Care) Rink House, Swadlincote – 37 hours per week – permanent
x 2. “South Derbyshire and South Dales have 2 Team Coordinator vacancies available in the locality. You will be
joining a fast-paced early help and social care service, working with 4 existing Team Coordinators of varying
experience to support and become the heart of a specific team.”
Post 4 – Early Help & Safeguarding (Social Care) Amber Valley Area Office - 37 hours per week - Fixed Term 12
months. “You will be joining a fast-paced early help and social care service, working with 5 existing TC to support
and become the heart of the Children in Care Team within the Amber Valley locality.”

Post 5 – Early Help & Safeguarding (Disabled Childrens Team), Polygon, Alfreton – 37 hours per week –
permanent. “You will be joining a fast-paced specialist and safeguarding service, working with 4 existing Team
Coordinators to support the Disabled Children’s Service. The service works with children who have a disability or
additional needs.”

Post 6 – Early Help & Safeguarding (Social Care), Clay Cross – temporary to cover maternity leave, 18 hours 30
minutes per week Monday 9-5, Tuesday 9-5, Wednesday 9.00 – 12.40. “This is a job share with an experienced
team coordinator, working in a busy office providing administrative support to a team of social workers and team

“Contract Care are committed to helping all young people to reach their full potential. Our foster carers are central
to this, so the support offered by the Team Co-ordinator is an important role as part of the team around the child.” -

Post 10 – Children in Care, Fostering, Erewash 37 hours per week – permanent. “South Derbyshire Fostering
Team are a positive, supportive team with a focus on establishing positive working relationships with foster carers,
colleagues, children and young people and other childcare teams. Our Fostering Team Co-ordinator is very much a
part of the team around the child, as are our Foster Carers. This role will require a worker with excellent
interpersonal skills and be highly organised.”
