Should you wish to avoid the beginning of year uniform rush, we suggest that you visit the various uniform
outlets before the end of the year.
• Ensure that all personal belongings including shoes, clothing, sports and musical equipment/
instruments are marked
• Laundry numbers may be obtained from your respective boarding house
• Should you be interested, making use of the school clothing exchange will result in great savings

Birch’s (45 High St, Grahamstown) stocks the Kingswood school uniform, as well as a range
of other generic school-related and sport items. Most sporting equipment is available for
purchase at Birch’s but may also be sourced privately. Please note that all boarders are
required to have a Birch’s account.

The Bridging Year pupils have a basic uniform that they are required to wear when coming onto the Kingswood campus
during academic time. The advantage of a uniform of this nature is that it enables the BY to identify with being a pupil at
Kingswood College, while still maintaining the BY ethos.
Please note: Bedding is provided.
EXCURSIONS WEAR (Hiking, Abseiling, Mountain Climbing etc)
Bridging Year Programme contains a number of excursions that will require the BY to have some basic (but essential) camping
gear. It is therefore recommended that your child arrive at Kingswood suitably prepared. If you have basic camping cooking
and eating utensils then please bring them along as well.
* Most Items can be purchased from the Clothing Exchange (second hand) but are subject to stock availability
* Most sporting equipment is available for purchase at Birch's but may be sourced privately
