Issue 176
Well done to all the children who performed in their Christmas concerts this
week. Everyone did such a super job.
Thank you to everyone for your support in purchasing tickets for the Christmas
PTA Hamper Raffle.
As this is the last Newsletter of the term I hope that everyone has a happy and
safe Christmas holiday and I look forward to seeing all the children when they
return on Monday 6th January.
This week Reception performed their first Christmas play ‘Whoops A Daisy Angel’ to their peers
and grown-ups. They remembered all their lines and actions to the songs! They have also been
busy showing off their journals to their parents – show casing all they have done this term. In
maths we have been recapping our knowledge on 2D shapes – sorting shapes independently.
This week in Year 1 we have carried on looking at money. The children
have been to the Year 1 shop again, this time they were
buying decorations to be used on Christmas cards! The
children had great fun buying their items and then making
their cards!

making mince pies
ready for their
Christmas
performance. The
children made their
own pastry,
weighing and
measuring the
ingredients carefully.
We hope you
enjoyed them!
On Tuesday, Year 3 were treated
to a steel pan show! 14 children
from each class took turns to
play jingle bells on the steel pan!

Year 4 have had an incredibly busy week! They have written a non chronological report about coral
reefs, learnt a new division method, built and coded a submarine in DT and computing, read with
Reception and in our spare time have put on the most epic Panto. I think we are all ready for the
Christmas break!
