Mallards New Look
The Mallards have unveiled a refreshed and hyper-local look for the team.
Featuring a shot-calling Maynard G. Mallard and a home plate made of
Wisconsin cheese, the updated logo is ready to step up to bat with
the greater Madison community!
Designed by Madison based creative agency, Planet Propaganda, the logo
celebrates the connection between Madison and the Mallards while
introducing blue and cream to the team’s color palette along with the classic
(but updated) green and yellow. The sashaying “M” and Mallards wordmark
evoke the nostalgia of America’s favorite pastime and fun summer days at the
ballpark. Bright and bold, this homer-hitting duck is pointing straight to the
Northside of our beautiful isthmus.
Inside of the ballpark, a new section of the rebuilt Paul Davis Team Store will
be dedicated to hand-crafted goods commissioned from Dane County artists
and artisans. Ranging from custom mugs to hand-embroidered T-shirts, the
Mallards want to connect art and baseball through these unique pieces.
The Local Spotlight collection will be available in-store and online along
with new 2021 Mallards merchandise.

The Mallards also focused on connecting with non-profit

Game Preview
Following a 12-10 loss in a shootout in the first game of the series against the Wis-
consin Woodchucks (10-6), the Madison Mallards (9-7) host Wisconsin once again
for the finale of the series at 1:05 p.m.

It was a back-and-forth game last night with a combined 29 hits and 21 runs. The
Mallards got two home runs from JT Benson (Louisville) who went 4-for-5 at the
plate, and also got a two-run homer from Josh Caron (Nebraska).
The Woodchucks Kevin Kilpatrick stole the show though, as he went 5-for-5 with
a homer, double and three singles, including three RBI. His performance won him
Northwoods League Player of the Night.

Starting on the mound today for the Mallards will be left hander Ryan Cabarcas
(Florida). He has made eight appearances and just one start on the season, owning
a 6.91 ERA in 14.1 total innings pitched.
For the Woodchucks, it’ll be Dylan MacCallum (Pepperdine). MacCallum had made
seven appearances including two starts this season, and owns a 1.45 ERA in 18.2
total innings pitched.
The Woodchucks now lead the season series with the Mallards 5-4 after last
night’s victory. Every game but one so far between these teams has been decided
by two runs or less. They will match up two more times after today’s game.

Donnie Scott will be returning to manage the club for his eighth
season. Scott has made the playoffs in four of his seven seasons
with the Mallards, inlcuding winning the 2013 Summer
Collegiate World Series.

Ryne Stanley had played for the Mallards in 2019, as he just
finished his Senior season at North Carolina A&T State.
Stanley will be along side Donnie Scott in assistant
coaching, but focusing on catching.
