Daily Itinerary DAY ONE: MELBOURNE/SYDNEY - LORD HOWE ISLAND This morning board Air Adventure’s Outback Jet for the flight across to Lord Howe Island. From the East Coast of the mainland it’s just a 90 minute flight unNl you land on your own slice of paradise in the South Pacific. Lord Howe Island is known for its lovely ‘perpetual spring’ weather and is home to just 300 locals. The island restricts the amount of visitors so you will never see a crowd. A_er being greeted at the airport by your hosts you will be transferred to the luxurious confines of Capella Lodge, sister property to Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island. Capella has featured at the top of ‘Gold Lists’ by Gourmet Traveller and Conde Nast magazine. A_er a welcome orientaNon by long Nme managers Mark and Libby, Ian HuQon will present the natural history of the island to set the scene for your days to come. Your hosts will keep an eye out on the forecast and adjust the iNnerary so that each planned excursion is in the best possible condiNons. During your Nme on Lord Howe Island and included in your stay is: a Hosted Island Tour which includes a Glass Bo/omed Boat cruise out in the sheltered waters of the lagoon, teeming with colourful fish and corals; your experienced skipper will explain how precious this most southerly coral reef system is. There is also the opNon to snorkel on this trip. Fish feeding at Ned’s Beach: As well as being one of Lord Howe’s most postcard-perfect beaches and a great spot for snorkelling, Ned’s has also been voted as one of Australia’s cleanest beaches. Ned’s is also where the Island’s fish will come to you. Be part of a tradiNon that has enchanted visitors and locals for generaNons – any Nme of day make your way to Ned’s and feed the mullet, wrasse, garfish, silver-drummer, spangled-emperor and of course the royalty of Lord Howe fish, the metre-long kingfish. North Bay tour and BBQ: Join world renowned naturalist Ian HuQon for a guided interpreNve tour of Mt Eliza. The prisNne North Bay is located in a remote area of the Lagoon that surrounds Lord Howe Island. Accessible by boat our day long excursion takes you to stunning coral gardens. See abundant fish life, enjoy bushwalking and visit seabird colonies. A sumptuous BBQ lunch will also be served. There are also bikes at your disposal as well as numerous walks and strolls that depart from the Lodge. All Air Adventure guests also receive a $50 credit for the Capella Spa (1 per suite). Other acNviNes you may choose to enjoy (addiNonal cost) include fishing charters, the Mt Gower hike (voted as one of the best day hikes in Australia), golf or SCUBA diving. Note: there are no fixed departure Nmes for flights conducted on any day of this tour. Ian HuQon has spent a lifeNme studying the flora and fauna of
his island home. He is the Curator of the Lord Howe Island
museum and a very well respected author and naturalist. Ian will
guide you on a trip to North Beach and Mt Eliza, as well as give
you a talk on the history of Lord Howe Island.

This twin prop-jet aircra_ is a fast, reliable outback machine capable of landing on gravel and remote airfields where others in larger aircra_ can’t. The Outback Jet is operated by Sharp Airlines, which holds an Air Operators CerNficate issued by CASA. All pilots are highly experienced and carry a Commercial Pilots License. It’s equipped with state-of-the-art avionics and is all weather rated with impressive safety features. The interior is spacious with custom leather seaNng, climate control and clear windows (every seat is the window seat) making in flight viewing a joy.
