the best snow in the Southern Hemisphere and it has the
longest season of all ski areas in New Zealand. Regarded as
New Zealand’s true high country ski area, Mt Hutt has a great

Yes. A Beginner Lift Pass provides access to the surface lifts and learner terrain
only. This can be upgraded to a full mountain day lift pass from 12.30pm each day
(see pricing boards for upgrade costs).
What are the advantages of renting my gear from the mountain?
We have state-of-the-art rental equipment including the revolutionary new Head BYS
system, which has been designed to make the rental ski fitting process faster and
easier than ever before. You can swap your gear throughout the day and try another
shape or size, or even swap between skiing and snowboarding. If anything happens
to the gear we can replace it immediately saving you a trip back to town to have it
repaired or replaced, plus multiday hires receive free overnight storage.
What time are the lessons?
Group lessons are from 10.30am and 1.30pm daily and are normally 1 hour and
50 minutes in duration. Please meet for your lesson 10 minutes prior.
Can I get a private lesson?

If I don’t want to queue tomorrow, can I get my tickets the day before?
Yes. On-mountain Guest Services, the Snowsports School sales office and the Mt Hutt
Snow Centre can issue these up to 10 days in advance.
What happens if I lose my pass?
Report to Guest Services. You will need to present your receipt and fill out a lost ticket
