• We have updated our online
demographic information and
have just produced an updated
2019 Investor’s Guide “Community
Profile” publication.
• Printed copies of the Profile will be
forwarded to you as soon as they
are available. Please discard all of

RESIDENT LIFE SURVEY
• Thank you for your assistance in gathering input
for the Resident Life Survey completed at the
end of 2018.
• Students in the Psychology department at
Western University compiled a report of the
County wide findings which you can now find
posted on our website under “Media Centre/
2018 Resident Life Survey Report”.
• Raw data per municipal response to the survey

WORKFORCE STRATEGY
• The “Middlesex Matters” Youth Forum • An Employer Roundtable was hosted

MIDDLESEX COUNTY BUSINESS
SECTOR ANALYSIS
• A team of students from the Project Management
graduate program at Western University, worked with GIS
Planning and Economic Development Departments this
spring to preform a sector analysis of all of the businesses
currently listed in the County’s business directory.
• Businesses were plotted on a new mapping system which
categorized them by NAIC and a written analysis report
was produced which is now available to all municipalities.

Middesex County’s Department of Economic Development teamed
up with OMAFRA to host the Teeny Tiny Summit on April 10th at Purple
Hill Country Music Hall
120 people attended for a day full of best practice
sharing and networking among small municipalities

NEW FUNDING PROPOSAL
• An application has been submitted to the Canadian Experiences Fund in
order to assist the County in carrying out the following Tourism
Development projects in 2019-2020:
• The development of a Farm-to-Table Culinary Guide
• A Tourism Symposium designed to expose Middlesex
County tourism providers to best practices and facilitate
collaborative offerings
• An experiential learning program for Middlesex County
tourism providers complete with training on potential
