Understanding Your Next Radio System
A Brief Introduction
to DMR
Digital Mobile Radio (DMR)
is an international standard
for land mobile radios that
allows for two concurrent
conversations on a single
channel. The DMR standard
is supported by a growing
number of manufacturers
of Tier III digital trunking
systems and Tier II digital
conventional products.

DMR is the new standard for professional radio
users. When you select Harris Momentum, you can be
certain that all your equipment is fully compliant with
the DMR standard. The Momentum solution is the
perfect choice for budget-minded public agencies
                                                                                                     or private enterprises.

IOP Certification Means Peace of Mind

The DMR Association has created certification through the Interoperability
Process (IOP) to ensure equipment from various manufacturers complies
with the standard, resulting in interoperability between radios from different
suppliers. Interoperability testing is conducted and the results of successful
tests are posted on the DMR Association web site for users to review
    when considering a DMR purchase.

Momentum radios have been certified by the DMR Association IOP. IOP
certified Momentum products provides customers with peace of mind
that our radios and systems will work in conjunction with other IOP
    certified products and systems.

Tier II System: Conventional DMR

Ideal for Transitioning from Analog to Digital
Momentum Tier II systems are ideal for customers transitioning from analog to digital Land Mobile Radio. Repeaters can be
located at a single site or dispersed over a large geographic area such as a county or state. Momentum portable and mobile
radios are able to automatically roam to each repeater within the network allowing work groups to stay connected throughout
a busy day. Radio roaming and wide area coverage make Momentum Tier II an excellent solution for customers in need of
affordable, reliable communications with a mobile workforce.

The Power of Digital Communications
In the Palm of Your Hand.

The Momentum family of radios includes a complete line of portable and mobile radios available in VHF, UHF, 800 MHz,
and 900 MHz frequency bands. Momentum portables are designed to meet IP-67 ratings for immersion and MIL-STDs for
ruggedness. The mobiles meet IP-54 for dust and water protection and MIL-STDs for years of reliable operation.

All Momentum radios include GPS receivers integrated into the radio, eliminating the need for expensive add-on accessories.
Momentum radios support analog conventional and DMR Tier II/Tier III operation. Radios can be field upgraded via software
from Tier II to Tier III to allow migration from digital conventional to digital trunking.
