Preamble
For standardized procedures at the Sindelfingen and Untertürkheim MTC (Mercedes-Benz Technology Center)
locations and their affiliated locations, the supplier shall ensure that deliveries fully comply with the following
specified processes, content of delivery notes, delivery note data communication and parts identification.
This is the basis of automated receipt of goods, parts identification and parts tracking in MTC engineering sections.
The supplier can generate delivery documents in the required form through the internet using the Daimler Supplier
Portal. The application can be used to generate the parts identification tags, delivery notes and EDI delivery note.
Besides the following provisions, the conditions contained in the current Mercedes-Benz Special Terms apply.
These are available on the Daimler Supplier Portal: http://supplier-portal.daimler.com/. Daimler supply
specifications are also an integral part of the agreement.
Note: This translation is for the purpose of easier communication only. The German version shall prevail above
all others.

1 Scope of Application
1.1 Scopes
The MTC Specifications 1 /2 is valid for all parts deliveries to MTC (Mercedes-Benz Technology Center) at
the Sindelfingen and Untertürkheim locations, VAN R&D Center (VTC) and their affiliated external locations
       and external warehouses.
Deliveries of “Parts-Tools” are subject to the same form of delivery note and EDI delivery note conditions
       as for parts deliveries.

1.2 Period of Validity
MTC Specification 1/2 Version 005 supersedes Version 004 of MTC Specifications 1/2 with effect
       from 2021-01-01.

2 Goods Deliveries
2.1 Deliveries to MTC
Deliveries of parts to MTC shall always be via the main goods receiving section at the Sindelfingen or
Untertürkheim plants (details are given in the delivery address in the order). The supplier shall guarantee
that initial incoming goods receipt takes place at the main goods receiving section at the location.
This shall also apply to personal deliveries.
Material shall be addressed to the receiving area specified in the order. Changes in the receiving area are
only permitted if agreed with the component manager (shown in the order as the orderer). In general, the
latest version of MBST 29 (Mercedes-Benz Special Term) “shipment of goods” has to be considered.

2.2 Deliveries to Third Parties
Where deliveries of parts ordered by MTC are delivered to third parties, e.g. prototype manufacturers,
the supplier shall send the EDI delivery note to the organizational unit of the orderer. The supplier shall also
ensure that the goods receiving section of the third party signs the delivery note and notes the quantities
received. The signed delivery note is to be sent to the orderer.

                                                                                                              Version 005

2.3 Free Deliveries

If parts are delivered free of charge to the MTC, the supplier is bound to ensure that the goods are provided
with the appropriate delivery documents and that they bear the supplement “Free delivery". If the free
delivery is based on an order number, this shall also be noted. If there is no order number for the free
delivery, the figure "9" shall be noted on the delivery documents as the order number, meaning free
      delivery.

3 Product Identification for Parts
Every individual part delivered has to be labeled by the supplier in accordance with MBN 10535
(Identification of Preproduction Series Parts). This applies to all parts delivered to the MTC, i.e. also for
series production parts. MBN 10535 provides for component parts to be labeled with an adhesive label or,
where this is technically not possible (for example body-in-white parts, small parts…) with a goods tag.
MBN10535 can be downloaded from the Daimler Supplier Portal "supplier.daimler.com".

      Example of parts identification:

Fig. 1: Parts identification with an adhesive label Fig. 2: Parts identification with a goods tag

If deliveries have a required version number (body-in-white scopes), a goods tag with a data matrix code
shall be used. In addition, observe the specifications in the standard.
To ensure the code is machine-readable, the matrix code described in MBN 10535
(MBN 10535 Supplement 3 – Data Matrix Code Specification) shall be used.

3.3.1 Special Considerations using Sample Labels with the Vehicle Number, FINAS Number,
      Version Number
In the case of orders quoting a vehicle number, version number or FINAS number, the following notes are
     to be observed on delivery:
If a vehicle number is quoted in the order, it must be included on the label (or goods tag) in machine-
readable and human readable formats. If the label format in the sample is used, the vehicle number can
be printed instead of the E/Q status field in the human readable format. The Data matrix code has to
     contain all information.
If a FINAS number is required in the order, it must be included on the label (or goods tag, if the component
part so dictates) in machine-readable and human readable formats. If the label format in the sample MBN
10535 is used, the FINAS number can be printed instead of the E/Q status field in the human readable
format. The Data matrix code has to contain all information.
If a version number is required for the delivery, it must in all cases be included on the label or goods tag
in machine-readable and human readable formats.

                                                                                                         Version 005

4 Package Item/Load Container
4.1 General - Package/Package Item
As a rule, separate packages are to be used for each part number and order (load container, cardboard box,
mesh box, etc.). In exceptional circumstances, several part numbers from one order may be packaged
together. The various part numbers must be unambiguously marked and identifiable by means of packaging
inners (bags, cardboard boxes, partition walls, etc.).
There must be separate packaging units (pallets, mesh boxes, etc.) for each receiving area. The packaging
unit may contain individual packages for different parts and orders provided the labeling is unambiguous.

4.1.1 Related Components (KIT)
If a material number consisting of 2 or more components (so-called "KIT") is delivered, e.g. top and bottom
part (with the same item number), the components must be marked clearly that they belong together. For
unambiguous recognition, the components must be tied together by a suitable fastener e.g. a cable tie/band.

4.2 General - Packaging
The supplier is solely responsible for providing suitable transport-worthy packaging for the deliveries.
Packaging may be reusable or disposable. Corresponding goods identifications (e.g. fragile, not stackable,
electrostatically sensitive content, etc.) must be permanently marked on the packaging in a clearly visible
manner. The supplier shall ensure that the packaging is suitable for keeping the parts free of dirt and damage
in transit and that all statutory provisions are adhered to.

4.2.1 Requirements for Packaging using “Daimler regional forwarder”
For delivery of goods by using „Daimler regional forwarder“, the supplier shall be obliged to use Daimler
standard pool containers in compliance with MBST 28 (Mercedes-Benz Special Terms).
All Daimler standard pool containers can be used as additional packing for deliveries of goods in disposable
      packaging.

4.3 Labeling Package
The package must be marked from the outside with a bar-coded (Code39) good tag in accordance with the
current version of the MBST (Mercedes Benz Special Terms). If a load container or package contains a mixture
of items, point (8) Customer part number must read "Mixed Load". The goods tag must contain, at least,
these details: (1) Recipient of the goods, (2) Receiving area, (3) Delivery note number, (4) Supplier's address,
      (8) Customer's part number and (12) Supplier no.

5 Delivery Note
The delivery note for deliveries to MTC shall comply with the requirements of Mercedes Benz Special Terms,
      supplemented by the following specifications.
 Each delivery note or EDI delivery note must relate to only one order number.
 The delivery note or EDI delivery note is to be attached to the outside of the packaging unit.
 A duplicate of the delivery note or EDI delivery note shall be placed inside the packaging unit.

5.1 Format of the Delivery Note
The delivery note is based in the one given in DIN4991.

5.2 Contents of the Delivery Note
The following additional details shall be adhered to in connection with delivery notes or EDI delivery note:
The order number and order item must always be included with a reference to the delivery note item.
If the preproduction test batch, project, vehicle or major assembly number, FINAS number, version number
are listed, they must under all circumstances be repeated on the delivery note. The following table shows
the mandatory and optional contents for delivery notes (provided they are given or required in the order).

the costs of reworking at cost price.

8 Daimler Supplier Portal
Mercedes-Benz AG shall offer the supplier the option of a free Internet connection for compiling the
     required delivery documents.
This application enables labels, goods tags and delivery notes to be generated in accordance with
MTC specifications and delivery note data to be exchanged via EDI. The registration application form for
access to this application, the manual and the contacts are listed on the Internet at http://supplier-
portal.daimler.com/ in connection with the application IBL – InBound Logistics – DQM – navigation option

10 Quality Guidelines
10.1 Purpose of QA on Prototype Parts
The objective of the assembly and testing of prototypes and partial builds is to gain meaningful insights
into the raising of the maturity levels of individual parts and the entire vehicle. In view of the required short
assembly and testing periods available, this is only possible if the prototype parts are available in the
     required quality.

10.2 Obligation by the Supplier Regarding Quality Assurance of
Prototype Parts in Accordance with VDA
According to VDA 6.1 and 6.3, the supplier is obliged to make every reasonable effort to ensure the quality
of the prototype parts supplied. All characteristics produced by the supplier must be measured/tested
using appropriate quality assurance methods and tools. Where no specific agreement on quality assurance
has been reached with Mercedes-Benz AG, the type and scope of the tests on the prototype part are to be
unilaterally defined by the supplier taking into account the following criteria:
 Safety relevance of the component part
 Function, material, manufacturing process, etc.
 Validation target and scope of the major assemblies and test vehicles in the corresponding
          assembly phase
 Maturity level of the component part

10.3 Component Part and Build Rate Specific Testing Specifications for Quality-
     critical Parts
Mercedes-Benz AG will provide component part and build rate specific testing specifications for defined
component parts in addition to 10.2. The testing specifications contain details of:
      Test equipment
 Alignment plan (datum, alignment and reference points)
 Testing and measuring stipulations (measuring points, points, test sites)
 Tolerances for datum, measuring and test sites
      Testing frequency
The testing specifications may contain requirements for geometry, materials, surface finish and the
function of a component part and are binding basic documentation to ensure quality assurance of the
     component part with the supplier.

10.4 Documentation of Test Results
The supplier is obliged to back up all quality documents and records without delay and make them available
to Mercedes-Benz AG on request. In the case of component parts for which Mercedes-Benz AG provided
testing specifications, the supplier shall check the agreed characteristics before delivery, document the
results and make the test report available to Mercedes-Benz AG. The costs incurred are deemed to be
included in the component part costs or the agreed development costs.

10.5 Special Quality Requirements for Prototype Parts Product Group Drive System/
     Powertrain Development
The specific requirements are ruled in the appendix “Product Group Drive System / Powertrain
     Development “

10.6 Special Quality Requirements for Prototype Parts in Van Development
The specific requirements are ruled in the appendix: "Quality requirements for prototype parts of Van
     Development"
