www.davidandcharles.comWe’re delighted to be issuing our first catalogue
as a newly independent publishing company,
David and Charles Ltd.
Earlier this year we completed a Management Buy-Out of the former
F&W Media International UK books business. It was entirely fitting to
return to the name under which the company was originally founded,
David and Charles. We are excited to continue with the innovative,
niche publishing synonymous with our name.
The featured titles in these pages give you a flavour of the type of
publishing you can expect from David and Charles. Modern Crochet
Bible is a brilliant, comprehensive technique book that builds on our
strengths in publishing category dominant titles. Knit Like a Latvian -
Socks is the perfect follow-up to the hugely successful book of last year.
Quilts from Tilda’s Studio celebrates the exquisite fabric design by Tilda
creative force, Tone Finnanger, and Journal with Purpose could not be
more on-trend and is already setting pre-order sales alight.
We will be building on these books and the other featured titles with
a growing list and ambitious publishing plans as we look forward into
2020 and beyond. Throughout, our aim is to continue developing the
relationships we have with domestic and international retailers, foreign
language partners, authors and the wider industry.
Ours is an open and collaborative approach and we welcome any
feedback, contact, ideas and discussion of opportunities for great books
and increased sales. Feel free to contact me on the details below or talk
to any member of our team.
We look forward to working with you.

Purpose
One of the great things about journaling is that there are
absolutely no rules. You start with an empty notebook and, over
time, you turn it into a special record of your life. There will be
no other journal like it, as it will reflect your unique view on the
world, your experiences and your own creative expression.

KNIT LIKE A LATVIAN: SOCKS
Ieva Ozolina
This book offers a contemporary approach to
traditional Latvian knitted socks with variations
for footless, ankle and knee length socks.
Socks are a very accessible way to attempt
colourwork knitting on a small scale without
tackling a large garment, which can put less
experienced knitters off. This title brings
traditional Latvian designs to a wider audience
and gives them a contemporary twist for
modern knitters.

ife would just be dull if we were only
handed sweet things like peaches and
strawberries. That’s why it throws us a
bitter tasting curveball every so often
(or even worse a raw onion or two). Not
great to eat raw on their own (unless
you’re brave!) but they can be turned into
something delicious if you know how to
