OABCIG band: OABCIG High School held a pops concert Feb. 25, 2021 in the high school gym. The OABCIG High School concert band opened the concert with
“Irish Tune from County Derry” by Percy Grainger arranged by Rob Romeym and “Seige” by Randall Standbridge. Jacob Welper directed the band. In an effort to
keep social distancing due to COVID-19, the concert was divided into five segments with each group exiting after their performance so the next group could
perform. The event featured the concert band and second, third, sixth and seventh grade period choir classes.

were selected for the 2020 All-State
Chorus. The Nov. 19-21 festival had
been canceled, due to the COVID-19
pandemic.

Concert choir: The OABCIG High School mixed concert choir closed the annual spring concert May 6, 2021. The choir sang “City Called Heaven” arranged by
Josephine Poelinitz featuring soloists Amber Hoefling and Kylee Dausel. They also sang “I’ll Be On My Way” by Shawn Kirchner, featuring soloists Cade Ernst and
Truman Clark and Celia Garner-Prouty on violin. Judy Fells accompanied the vocalists on the piano. Jacob Pedersen directs the choirs.

OABCIG choir: COVID-19 has challenged many activities since it hit the area back in March, 2020. One of the losses was the annual fall concerts presented at area
schools. The OABCIG High School concert choir recorded selections it would have performed at their fall concert.

Jazz choir: OABCIG held its first jazz night Feb. 26, 2021 with performances by the high school jazz band, middle school jazz band and high school jazz choir. The
jazz choir, under the direction of Jacob Pedersen, closed the show. Pedersen told the audience this was the debut performance of the jazz choir. The jazz choir
participated in the Iowa High School Music Association State Jazz Choir contest for the first time in February and received a split II rating (two II’s and one I).

to pass the queen’s test so that the prince can marry. The law dictates that no one can marry until he does. Cast members

‘The Ever After’

Group Speech entries earn All-State Large Group Speech honors. According to the
Iowa High School Speech Association, Ridge View’s short film entry,“Cinema 101,”
was chosen for All-State. Group members are, seated: Ben Spina. Standing from
