INTRODUCTION
As we kick off 2021 with the new school year, I reflect on
the year that was.
We saw massive change to the way we lived our lives, now back to what we would call
“normality”. I saw schools work hard to adopt new technologies quickly, to assist them with
remote learning which I feel has accelerated the use of such tools by years.
At CompNow, we would normally have attended or hosted approximately 100 events last
year, this dropped to about 10 nationally, so we had to move online to stay engaged with
our clients. We implemented our webinar series, that was hugely successful and we will be
building on that in 2021 with a heap of great content and speakers coming to our YouTube
channel, so make sure you “like and subscribe!”.
We finished off 2020 with a couple of big announcements, that CompNow are now a
Google Enterprise for Education partner and able to facilitate all the requirements around Brendan Redpath

Late last year, CompNow was also elevated by Extreme networks to be 1 of only 2 partners nationally recognised has a Black Diamond
partner, which is the highest level partnership they have, which is great recognition of the work our teams have put in to achieve this.
Also, even in these times of remote learning, our ZTouch interactive panel amazed us with its success, almost not being able to produce
the panels quick enough due to the amount of schools that are implementing them as a key part of the in class experience. It remains the
best value product in the interactive panel market.
For our schools that use Apple, there was the big change with the introduction of the M1 chip, which created challenges, however our
engineering team were well prepared, our BDM’s took a lot of calls from parents and we successfully assisted many schools to transition to
the new technology. With the change from Intel, the “speeds and feeds” of the new processor make the M1 a device that all Apple schools
should be getting a test device into their school, if not already!
The new Surface Pro has also been announced, which will see a performance jump, with Microsoft also considering the move to a ARM
processor, so that will be interesting to see when that comes to market.
Overall this year, the team is excited about the new technology launches, however, like me, they are looking forward to getting together with our
clients and partners in person. I am looking forward to doing a few road trips interstate to catch up with some long time clients and new ones!
