Devon Artist Network is delighted
to announce this year’s Emerging
Artist Bursary Award winners.
Bursaries are aimed at those taking
their first steps into professional
arts practice, returning to creative
practice after a career break or
change, or currently taking their
art in a new direction.
The award aims to nurture and
encourage new talent to take the
next steps in their career by
helping to fund their participation
in this prestigious annual open
studios event.
Bursary winners have been
selected based on the quality of
their work. This year’s winners are:

Devon Artist
Network
Devon Artist Network was founded in 2004 to promote
the visual arts in Devon and create opportunities for
artists and makers in Devon. Membership is based on a
website where each artist has their own gallery page
which they can update whenever they like, with links to
their own website where applicable.
Membership includes a monthly ebulletin giving news of
exhibitions and other opportunities for artists locally,
nationally and internationally. Devon Open Studios is the
annual flagship event of the Network, alongside
opportunities for exhibitions and arts fairs under its aegis.
We also fund an award in conjunction with Plymouth
College of Art to support graduating students making
their first steps in to professional art practice.
The 2019 award went to Merle Sild whose work can be
seen on the Devon Artist Network website.
