At the beginning of a New Year, it is natural to ask the question as a Christian – What is it that God
would want of us for 2020?
It is God’s desire for us to be:
      With Him
      ourselves
      available for His service
We give God thanks for our spiritual shepherd Fr. Lutya, Lord bless his wife Nombasa and family.

to overcome all the barriers while working with God’s young children.

Lord we thank you for another blessed year gone by. We give God all the glory and
honour for what we, as a Parish, have achieved. We give thanks to our Parish
Executive, Parish Councillors and all ministries for their unselfish commitment to
serve thy people.
We give thanks for Father Glen Daries who is ministering to us during our interregnum
and we pray for his wife Bernice and children Jovan, Lugrecia and Demi, that they may
be strengthened by the Holy Spirit and receive Your blessings in abundance.
We pray for our parish family, especially those who are facing awesome challenges in
life. We pray for the aged, the sick, the poor, the marginalized and those who mourn.
We uphold those affected by the ongoing violence within our communities as we
continued to pray for peace, love and understanding: so that we all may be one.
We pray for God’s abundant grace through Christ Jesus, as we walk the path of self-
sacrifice with Christ during Lent, journeying with Christ the Way of the Cross,
encompassing with Christ His suffering and pain, in order to be blessed with Easter
Joy when we celebrate His glorious Resurrection.
We pray God’s blessed presence in all our doings going forward and may God guide
with His heavenly wisdom, the minds of those responsible for choosing a Rector for
our Parish. In Jesus name we pray.

                                       O my Beloved,
                                 You have searched me
                                      and known me.
                          You discern my innermost thoughts.
You find me on the journey and
                                      guide my steps;
                                 You know my strengths
                                   and my weaknesses.
Even before my words rise up in prayer,
                               Lo, you have already heard
                                       my heart call.
                              You encompass me with love

and your strength is my shield.
                            Such sensitivity is too wonderful
                                     for me; it is high:
                                   boundless gratitude
                                  is my soul's response.

Jesus’ disciples were probably teenagers or in their early twenties when they were
called by Him. Pray that God would raise up young leaders who can reach their peers;
that they will build the future church in our nation.

May we as the leaders in the Parish give only of our best and support him in his
journey in the West Coast. We think of vestries and trust that the Lord will send willing
servants for the new year. Thank you Lord for the ministries in the church and
assistant Priests Reverend Joy and Anthony. May we be given a gift to be used to build
up the Body of Christ here in Hoedjies Bay Saldanha.
