VAUXHALL KIDSCAN CHRISTMAS COLLECTION
Please help us help other children have the Christmas we all hope for. This
year we are collecting presents for boys and girls between the ages of 2 to 12
on behalf of KidsCan - a wonderful child-based charity. KidsCan gives Kiwi kids
in need the chance to learn and thrive in their education – regardless of where
they come from. By providing food, shoes, raincoats, sanitary products and
health items, they are helping to remove the barriers these children face and
levelling the playing field in every way they can. KidsCan is on a mission to
make sure more Kiwi kids get a fair shot at making their dreams for the future
come true. Please place a NEW (sorry no second hand) gift in the giant present
box that will be in the school office from Monday 2 December until Friday 13
December. Please state whether it is for a boy or girl and the age and simply
pop it in the box and give someone a gift to look forward to at Christmas. Thank
you.

NEW WORLD RECEIPTS
John Ashton of Devonport New World donates a percentage of money that
Vauxhall parents spend in-store, and all you need to do is put your receipts into
the Primary School box at the checkout exit - don't forget to name the receipt
'Vauxhall School'.

YUMMY STICKERS
Collect all your 'Yummy' fruit stickers and add them to a collection sheet
(available in the office) and we get rewards to get free sports equipment for the
school.

LOST PROPERTY
The lost property is piling up outside the hall - please take the time to have a
look and remind your children to put their clothes in their bags as we have an
exceptionally high amount of lost property at the moment. This also includes
leftover containers/cake plates, etc, from Monster Mash - in the school hall
kitchen. All lost property left on the last day of school will be donated to
charity.

VOICE DRAMA
My name is Mary Laurence and I teach year 3 at Vauxhall School. I also have a drama company I run,
one session for years 1 - 2 and a separate session for years 3 – 6 after school on Fridays called VOICE!
The sessions are bursting with drama activities such as lots of circle time, big hall games, improvisation
and acting that will eventually lead to a short performance at the end of each term that you, friends, family
and the whole school can watch. My aim is that the children take part in many exciting activities designed
to increase self-awareness, self-esteem, co-operation, confidence and most importantly – to build
friendships and have LOTS of fun! The sessions are on Fridays, year 1 & 2 from 3.15 to 4.15 pm (the
Vauxhall kids are picked up from their classes by me just before the last bell and a roll is taken). Years 3,
4, 5 & 6 from 4.30 – 5.30 pm. The course costs $150 per term. If you would like to make a booking in
week 1 or would like to know more about what the course offers, please email Mary Laurence
at voicedrama1@gmail.com.
