Bedsheets
Bedsheets provide the mattress with an initial hygienic protection. Total pro-
tection of the mattress, such as by air and water tight synthetic materials, is not
desirable because of the need of a functioning bed environment with air circu-
lation and moisture removal. The highly flexible SCHRAMM mattress must not
be squeezed by using undersized, fitted, bedsheets. Otherwise it will decrea-
se in width and even more so in length and its corners will become “rounded.”
This happens when the sheets are too small or when they have shrunk after
washing. Using an undersized sheet leads to a shrinkage of the highly flexible
SCHRAMM mattress and to a “visitors’ crack.” Even the occasional use of an
undersized set of fitted bedsheets is enough to reduce the size of the mat-
tress. How can the matress regain its original dimensions? Grab the mattress
at its foot end, making sure that the fingers of your hands clasp the mattress’
sides. Shake the mattress briefly and strongly in a wave-like movement in the
head direction. Repeat once. This way, the mattress may regain its original
dimensions to the greatest possible extent. For this reason, the bedsheets of

Even the best materials soften due to continuous mechanical stress. As hu-

Motorised adjustment
SCHRAMM beds can be supplied with motor-driven movable base mattres-
ses. Between 2 and 7 motors enhance the level of comfort for sleeping, sitting,
relaxing or reading. The technical safety of the motors used is subject to the
meticulous testing criteria of the German Technical Inspectorate (TÜV) and
the Regional Trade Institute (LGA). We issue a guarantee of two years for all
motor components.

Wooden materials
We obtain our wood from sustainable forestry. Naturally grown wood is no
synthetic material. Each tree trunk is unique in its colour and structure, which
leads to variation. Natural differences do not constitute a reason for complaint.
The natural or stained woods are protected by a colourless satin-matte var-
nish or a natural wood effect varnish Naturo matte. The surface of the wood
may gradually darken according to light exposure. These processes do not
constitute reasons for complaint.
