Professional Practice Programme
Learning, Teaching and Quality Enhancement provides a proactive, Faculty-facing
professional service that:
• Supports academic excellence and innovation;
• Drives improvements in the academic experience for all students;
• Helps to safeguard the quality and standards of the University.
Introduction
As we move towards the safe re-opening of campus and a more longitudinal approach to
developing digital learning, the general principles of the TEL Toolkit remain and the
Toolkit has been updated to provide further guidance for offering an inclusive, high
quality, blended learning experience for all of our students. The sessions outlined in this
document are aligned with both the TEL Toolkit and the UK Professional Standards
Framework (UKPSF). Staff are also supported with its implementation through:

How to Book
Bookings for all sessions can be found on the Professional Practice Programme SharePoint
Site. Sessions will be added throughout the year, as we respond to your needs. These will
be advertised in Team Talk. If you experience problems using the new booking system,

Inclusive Blended Learning
The new Learning, Teaching and Student Experience Strategy, focuses on creating an
inclusive learning culture and transformative university experience that empowers our
students to realise their ambitions and make a positive difference to the world. Developing
inclusive learning activities and fostering inclusive learning communities are embedded
throughout the programme but are addressed more directly in these sessions.

Bradford:Fellowships

Peer Supported Review of Teaching Practice
Engaging in Peer Supported Review of Teaching Practice (PSRTP) provides rich
opportunities for scholarly discussion around learning and teaching, identifying and
sharing great teaching practice, and enhancing the student experience. This session is
required as preparation for initial engagement with the scheme.

Educational Development Days
Using a UKPSF lens, each day considers institutional goals and student feedback, and
explores future directions through presentations, scholarly discussion and practical
workshops. Each event will focus on different aspects and is not simply a repeat of a
previous session, although similar themes may emerge.

PedR Group
By using various research methods to explore our teaching practice and its impact on our
students, we are better equipped to adjust our practice to provide the best learning
experiences for our students (UKPSF A5).

Role Development
Our Sharepoint site provides guidance to support the roles of programme leader, module
leader and personal academic tutors. The Programme Leaders’ Forum is a lively
community for sharing concerns, ideas and good practice with a focus on enhancing our
students’ learning experiences.
On the Horizon
There are other sessions that are in the pipeline for which dates are not yet available:
• Exam Board Training.
• Annual Monitoring Workshops.
• Programme Approval & Review Panel Training.
Annual Conference
Having been paused in 2018/19 we hope to hold a University-wide event in 2020/21,
although it may have a different look and feel to previous years. We ask that you keep the
date free in your diaries to accommodate this.
