INSTITUTIONAL PROFILE
Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra is a banking institution founded on 31 October 1893 following the activities of the ancient ‘Monte
Pio’ active in town since 1494. During the past centuries Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra has evolved and expanded in full autonomy
with 65 branches widespread on the territory in the Tuscan provinces of Pisa, Livorno, Grosseto, Lucca, Siena and Florence.
Its mission is to be the Bank of territory reference for families, small and medium enterprises, local activities.

During latest years Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra was granted various awards by institutions and industry associations for the
innovative activities oriented to social and economic growth of local communities. In 2015 Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra was
granted the Award by the Italian Banking Industry Association called “Innovate to communicate: the bank introduces itself and
listen” with the institutional communication project “Non Chiamarla Banca”. For the same project in 2016 Cassa di Risparmio
di Volterra was granted the “Innovation award – Award of awards” established thanks to the President of the Italian Republic
and COTEC (National Foundation for Technological Innovation), as suggested by the Prime Minister’s Office. In 2017 Cassa di
Risparmio di Volterra was granted the “Future Bancassurance Award&Forum” prize for the cooperation with leading insurance
companies in order to develop a successful bankassurance model.
Finally, 2019 has been a year of great satisfaction and awards in different areas:

ABI Award (Italian Banking Industry Association) for the innovation of banking services in the category “Innovation Award for
corporate customers: the bank for enterprises”with its loan product ‘Summer Start Plus’ for companies in tourism business;
•
AIFIN Award “Banking Marketing & Communication – Innovation Award 2019” for the use of new technologies intended
to create an even more customized service based on real customer’s needs and for the same reasons it was granted the
‘Selligent Award’;
•
“Future Bancassurance Award & Forum” 2019 Award for the commitment and achieved results in creating an advisory service
for insurance products dedicated to SME;
•
“Le Fonti Innovation Awards 2019” Award, established by TV channel Le Fonti, in the category “Innovation & Banking
communication” representing an excellence in the local banking business, for the strategic approach to communication, also
digital communication, and for the rich program of financial education for private customers and SME.
• “ La Repubblica” - “Affari & Finanza”, Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra ranks at first place among banks in Tuscany in the
ranking “Best in Italy – Champions for service 2019/2020”for banking and insurance services scoring 68,1% within a sample
of more than 230.000 consumers, Survey by German Institute Quality and Finance.
