School Development Day
This Friday teachers and education assistants will undertake professional
learning in the teaching of Mathematics. We will learn more about making it
clear to students what they are learning in each session (Learning
Intentions) and how they will know if they have achieved this (Criteria for
Success). Our aim is to be more precise in how we teach Mathematics

School Board
We still require one or two more parent representatives on our school
board. Your time commitment is to attend a one hour meeting twice per
term. Please contact me if you’re interested.

Heatwave
Summer has one more sting in the tail. During the extremely hot days we’ll
employ a few measures to make sure everyone stays cool. Years 1-6 will
have access to the hall and attached classrooms for drawing and board
games. Outdoor activities will be moved into shade areas (e.g. badminton in
assembly area) and the library opened for story time

Success
Congratulations to Tara Tricker (pictured right) and former students Adom
Nyanzu-Young and Annie Roberts who were winners in the 2018 ‘ABC
Education Where I Live’ competition. The students made a video production
about our town

Swimming Carnival
Miss Sheree Halford will soon be sending out event nominations for the
Years 3-6 carnival. I’d like to see all students who are capable participating
and being their best. We have 50m and 25 m events for all strokes.

                         HARMONY DAY—Thursday 21st March
Please join your child for lunch on the day.
Bring a picnic lunch to share with your child and a blanket and chair.
Subway lunch orders will be sent home in the next few weeks.
                                          Lunch begins at 12.20pm.
Please wear ORANGE and bring a gold coin. Funds raised will go to our sister school in Cambodia.
Orange is the colour of Harmony Day and the orange ribbon originated as a symbol of anti-racism and
positive harmony. Wearing orange on Harmony Day is a simple and effective way of illustrating that you
believe in living in harmony, in a culturally diverse community and that racial intolerance is not acceptable.
