St-Paul-de-Vence September 14/15: Home • Nice • Cannes, France Depart your home city on September 14 for an overnight flight to Nice, France. After your plane clears the last of the snow-capped Alps, look for the sun to reflect off the crystal blue waters of the Côte d’Azur. Welcome to the Riviera! You are greeted at the airport and transported to the five-star Hotel Majestic in Cannes. The afternoon is at your leisure until our welcome reception this evening. ....... September 16: Cannes Golf: Terre Blanche—Le Riou Terre Blanche sets the scene perfectly for our golf adventure ahead, boasting breathtaking views of rolling hills dotted with distant pastel rooftops of nearby quaint villages. The plunging fairways of Le Riou course at Terre Blanche lead to perfectly bunkered greens. This parkland members course is an ideal introduction to golf in the Riviera. Tour: Nice and Grasse Touring passengers visit Nice, then visit Grasse, world capital of the perfume industry. After a full day of golf or touring, you will have the evening free to sample the culinary specialties of the French Riviera. ....... September 17: Cannes Golf: Monte Carlo Golf Club Built in 1911, the Monte Carlo Golf Club is considered to be the Côte d’Azur’s most prestigious club. Located 900 meters above sea level on Mont Agel, this course features narrow fairways and a spectacular panorama. Tour: Antibes and St-Paul-de-Vence Founded in the 5th century as a Greek colony, coastal Antibes is one of the oldest cities on the Côte d’Azur. After strolling through the Old Town, we visit St-Paul-de-Vence, perhaps the most famous of France’s artist villages. September 18: Cannes • Embark Sea Cloud Spirit Golf: Golf de Terre Blanche—Le Château The course winds its way through pine and oak forests and up to elevated tees where views of French villages and the rocky peaks of the Alpes-Maritimes await. The course presents both technical challenges and charm with holes like number six where the green sits in the shadow of the course’s namesake castle. Tour: Abbaye de Lérins Touring guests take a short ferry ride to St-Honorat Island, named after the Gallo-Roman Honoratus who visited the island at the end of the 4th century and founded a monastery. The monks that currently reside here have been cultivating vines since the middle ages and every stage, from planting to harvest, is done by hand. We tour the beautiful monastery to get a sense of its place in history. After our tour, we cross the strait to St-Marguerite Island and enjoy lunch overlooking the French coast at La Guerite. Later this afternoon, we board Sea Cloud Spirit. ....... September 19: St-Tropez, France We sail along the coast and have time to experience St-Tropez, “The Pearl of the Riviera,” best known as a destination for the glamorous and illustrious. We’ll explore this idyllic town with its narrow, pastel streets and relaxed culture rooted in its heritage as a fishing village and artist’s refuge. September 21: Portovenere, Italy Sure to be a highlight of our Riviera Golf Cruise, Cinque Terre is a favorite among Kalos guests. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is made up of five charming villages that sit suspended on the coastal cliffs of the Italian Riviera. The towns— Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore—are best accessed by boat.
