•   BV Reads starts at 7.20 am every morning

Types of Assessment
• Assessment is integral to the learning process
• Teachers will conduct formative assessments to check for understanding
  throughout the term
• For non-modular subjects, only one Weighted Assessment (WA) is
  conducted in each term (i.e Terms 1 – 3)
• For modular subjects, marks from each WA will be distributed within the
  semester
• Marks from each WA and End-of-Year Examination (EYE) will be entered in
  the MOE School Cockpit System for reporting
• Examples of WA include: Common Test, Project, Performance Tasks
Assessment Components for Various Subjects

• Information on Assessment Components will be shared to
  all students by their subject teachers
• The weighting for each Weighted Assessment and End-of-
  Year Examination will be clearly stated

LEARNING WITHOUT DISTRACTIONS
•   Students are not allowed to use their mobile devices (Handphones,
    Tablets) during curriculum hours (7.35 am to 1.50 pm) and after
    curriculum hours during academic support programme, structured
    revision and CCA. Such devices should be kept out of sight. Students can
    only use it when their teachers require them to do so.

•   For inappropriate use of mobile devices, the school may confiscate the
    mobile devise as a disciplinary measure or for the purpose of
    investigation. Once confiscated, the school may require the presence of a
    parent/guardian before the confiscated device is returned to the student.

CCA Policy in BV
• CCA participation is compulsory for all students in secondary schools with at
  least ONE CCA.

• Allocation of CCA is based on Interest, Talent and available resources.

• Attendance is compulsory and important.

• CCA activities will be suspended during Term 1 and 3 Common Tests, and 2
  weeks before Semester 1 and 2 Examinations.

• School will assess requests for a change of CCA from students in the
  mandatory CCA on a case by case basis, and may allow for one change in CCA
  either at the end of Secondary One or Secondary Two.
