A LETTER
FROM THE
QFLIP CO-CHAIRS
To whom it may concern –
Our names are Meredith Wilson-Smith and Frannie Sobcov, and we are the current co-chairs of the
Queen’s Female Leadership in Politics (QFLIP) conference at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
QFLIP’s mandate is to inspire and empower young women, providing them with the skills and tools
necessary to pursue a career in politics. Since its foundation in 2015, QFLIP has grown to become one of
the most influential conferences within the Canadian student community, addressing the current
underrepresentation and disenfranchisement of women in politics.
Throughout the conference’s existence, QFLIP has sought to provide a non-partisan, inclusive space for
likeminded individuals to engage with speakers, workshops, and events, aiding them on their path to
professional and political success. We take an intersectional view of politics, believing in the importance of
including all genders, races, ages, abilities, classes, and orientations in our community, and acknowledge that
people of minority identities face even further marginalization in the political realm. Diversity in thought,
background, and experience is an unparalleled asset – we all lose out when women’s voices aren’t heard.
This year, our conference theme is Shatter, speaking to the strength of women in breaking down obstacles
meant to hinder them. Women are not victims but rather the embodiment of resilience; we must be
empowered to break new ground and achieve new heights despite institutional barriers. Politics are not
limited to Parliament Hill – policy- and decision-making branch into all aspects of private and public life.
This is why QFLIP is seeking a variety of sponsors to facilitate and participate in this dialogue, and further
acknowledge the intersection of politics with the corporate world. We hope to connect with sponsors
interested in partnering to support our vision and enable the continuation of this critical mandate.

Sponsor a workshop or networking event
The conference offers different types of workshops throughout the weekend to give tangible takeaways.
Examples of workshop takeaways include networking, personal branding, and goal-setting. Your firm
can partake in either leading the workshop or being a title sponsor of a workshop you support.
Sponsor a meal
Throughout the three days of inspiration, the delegates will need to be kept fed and happy. Your
company can make a donation to pay for the food or provide the food itself. Get the chance to have your
company’s banner displayed, send in a video recording about what your firm does, or offer a keynote
speaker for the duration of the meal.
Sponsor a coffee chat
Have your company send representatives to mingle and engage with delegates from the conference. Get
a copy of the resume book of 150+ participants and the QFLIP executive.
Sponsor the banquet dinner
Have your company be the title sponsor of a banquet and be on the top of the minds of 150+ participants
as the weekend comes to an end. Have the co-chairs recognize your firm in a closing speech.
Sponsor the case challenge
The case challenge is a fun and exciting way for the delegates to practice the new skills and ideas gained from
QFLIP. Have your company submit a letter to be placed into the case challenge booklet, have a representative
of your firm introduce the case challenge, or have them evaluate the presentations of the team.
Sponsor a social
QFLIP hosts two evening socials for delegates over the course of the conference weekend. Get a chance to
know the delegates in an informal and relaxed setting through sponsorship and/or participation.
