ABOUT VISION INDIA FOUNDATION

Vision India Foundation was founded in 2014 by faculty and
alumni of IIT. Its mission is to bring systemic reforms in India
which align with the nation’s aspirations and ethos through
youth development. Steps for these long- term reforms include
working on public policy, governance, and on the institutional
framework of the nation. The organization focuses on engaging
with the youth who are mentored through VIF’s various
flagship programs like the World Governance Expedition,
Policy BootCamp, Good Governance Yatra and Change Agents
Network to become promising future leaders. Through
subsequent programmes, VIF has an alumni base of over 1500
individuals across India and the world. In 2020, VIF will be
transitioning into a unique institution, Rashtram - School of
Public Leadership.

WORLD GOVERNANCE EXPEDITION

World Governance Expedition (WGE) is an experiential and
immersive learning programme in policy-making and governance.
WGE invites young leaders and change-makers to study best
governance practices internationally and explore ways of
incorporating them in the Indian context. After five successful
editions in USA (2016), UK (2017) Israel (2018 & 2019) and Russia
(2019), Vision India Foundation is organizing the sixth edition to
Singapore. The expeditions to Israel and Russia were organized in
partnership with the Embassy of Israel and the Embassy of Russia
respectively. The expedition to Singapore aims at strengthening
the bilateral relations between the two countries, backed by
strategic     convergence,   developmental     cooperation    and
civilizational connections.

ARUNIMA GUPTA

Arunima Gupta is Senior Manager - Strategic and Foreign Relations
at Vision India Foundation. She pursued Master's in International
Relations from Leiden University, the Netherlands. Prior to joining
VIF, Arunima worked with the Ministry of External Affairs. She has
written for various national and international media platforms on
various foreign policy themes focussing on strategy and soft power.
She has also given commentaries on India's foreign policy
engagements for the national news channel - CNN- News18.

SANJEEV SIRNOORKAR

Arunima Gupta is Senior Manager - Strategic and Foreign Relations
at Vision India Foundation. She pursued Master's in International
Relations from Leiden University, the Netherlands. Prior to joining
VIF, Arunima worked with the Ministry of External Affairs. She has
written for various national and international media platforms on
various foreign policy themes focussing on strategy and soft power.

AARUNI SHRIVASTAVA

Aaruni Shrivastava, is currently working with rural communities
to set them a vicarious trailblazer in society for an equal socio-
economic and personal growth. After having 7+ years of work
experience with two different organisations he realised his
inclination towards social development through public policies
and he joined Barefoot College as a contributor. Aaruni
Shrivastava has been trained in engineering and music, which
has been invigorating him as a person and providing a multi-
dimensional stimulation to minimise any hurdle or problem, in
real life.

ADITYA BARRELA

Aditya Barrela is the CEO of Audisankara Group overseeing
strategy and operations for Audisankara Engineering Colleges,
Skill Development Centers and the newly launched Audisankara
Innovation and Incubation Center located in Nellore, Andhra
Pradesh. Aditya brings consulting experience in investment
promotion, public policy and international relations and has also
work towards Accelerating Sustainable Production in India in
collaboration with WEF. Very early into his career he had worked
towards tackling the UN’s SDGs through senior roles at
international non profits across Europe. In his free time Aditya
volunteers as a coach, facilitator and Heartfulness trainer.
AKANKSHA MALAIYA

Akanksha Malaiya is a student of B.A.LL.B (Hons.) Sem. 7 at Dr.
Harisingh Gour University (Sagar). She is the Secretary of Vichar
Sanstha, an NGO working for the development of the city of
Sagar. She has been actively involved in social services in the
fields of education, heathcare, hygiene, women empowernment,
environment and agriculture working with 61 schools. Akanksha
was a delegate of the Policy BootCamp, organized by Vision
India Foundation in 2018 where she was introduced to the
domain of public policy and governance. Looking at a future in
active politics, she is seeking to gain further exposure regarding
public policy, education systems and cultures of different
societies.

ANUP TRIPATHI

Anup Tripathi is currently working as Assistant Professor in the
Department of Social Sciences, FLAME University, Pune. He did
his PhD and Master's in Social Work from the Tata Institute of
Social Sciences, Mumbai and Bachelor's in Political Science from
the University of Delhi. Prior to joining FLAME University, he
worked as Assistant Manager (Community Development) at Coal
India Limited, a public sector undertaking of the Government of
India. Anup teaches courses in Sociological Theory, Indian
Society and Culture, Environmental Impact Assessment and
Urban Sociology. He has worked as a researcher on several
research projects. He is interested in working on the issues of
urban poor, housing and environment. He likes travelling,
reading and cooking.
ASHUTOSH PATIL

Ashutosh Patil is pursuing BA-LLB (Honors) program from
Symbiosis Law School, Pune. He is a diligent, determined, hard-
working and ambitious person having a pragmatic approach to
life. He is friendly and loves to meet new people from different
walks of life. He is an avid public speaker having a keen interest
to work in the social sector and community welfare
organizations. His hobbies include traveling, cooking and
reading non-fiction. He aspires to join the public service and
contribute to the overall welfare of society. He is a brilliant team
player and has a clear vision for the future.

CHANDRASEKAR VENKATARAMAN

Chandrasekar is a technical analyst working in Citigroup. He
holds a bachelor’s degree from NIT, Trichy. At work, he is
responsible for a platform that runs over 400+ business critical
applications for Citibank. Proven ability in design and
implementation of key technologies in an agile and secure
manner. He has a demonstrated experience in 2 government
research organizations and a private healthcare firm.         He
founded the Toastmaster chapter in Citi Chennai. Outside work,
his interests lie in photography, travel and swimming. He has
volunteered for Chennai Photo Bienalle (Photography festival) as
a photography instructor and at Aarushi (a social organization to
help the under-privileged). He is an avid interest with interests
in history and fiction.
HARSHAL SONAWANE

Harshal Sonawane is currently pursuing master's in Climate
Change and Sustainability Studies from TATA Institute of Social
Sciences, Mumbai. He did his under-graduation in Polymer
Engineering from Pune. He's also pursuing a postgraduate
diploma in Environmental Law and Policy from National Law
University, Delhi. Currently, he's working on his master's thesis
on the theme of Climate Finance. Being a student of Climate
Change discipline which is one one of the biggest international
problem, He is keenly interested in global environmental
governance. He's aspiring to represent India's climate stand on
climate change. He firmly believes that the problem of Climate
Change should be addressed using international equity and
justice.

MOHIT GARG

Mohit is a member of one of the premier most civil services in
India- Indian Police Service, working as Superintendent of Police
Narayanpur supervising 7000+ force He has been conferred one
of the highest honors for bravery in India– 1st Bar to Police
Medal for Gallantry for strategically planning and leading
successful anti-insurgency operations. He was given the
prestigious National Award for enabling free, fair and peaceful
elections. He started highly successful community policing
initiatives ‘Manva Puna Bijapur’ and 'Ghotial Police' connecting
more than 40000 villagers including 30000+ youth through
sports, educational and cultural activities. He has transformed
police stations into citizen and employee friendly units. He is an
alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
NAMBURI SAI SIDHARTHA

Sai Sidhartha Namburi is a 2018 graduate in Mechanical
Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science,
Pilani. He is very passionate about bringing a transformation in
the agriculture landscape of India. From August 2018 to August
2019, he worked as a research fellow under Mr. V.V.Lakshmi
Narayana (Indian Police Service) taking up multiple projects
related to agriculture and rural development in the Indian states
of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
He is working(jointly) on an battery vehicle mobility system in
his hometown of Warangal in addition to building a model farm.
He has written multiple articles on Indian politics and policy in
the past couple of years.

NISCHALA NAMBURU

Nischala pursued Bachelors in Architecture following which she
gained 3 years experience in the field as an intern and project
manager, she is seeking to expand her operational knowledge to
work in the development of our public spaces and belongs to
the town of Hyderabad. Her interests now are in analysing public
spaces.
NITISH MEHTA

Nitish Mehta is a 3rd year engineering student and is a part of a
social entrepreneurial student society named Enactus, involved
in the real world problem solving assessments and proposals. He
is a keen explorer, committed to the cause of public policy and
development through multiple projects and research paper.

NOB TSERING

Nob Tsering is currently working as the Assistant Director in the
Department of Disaster Management, Government o Arunachal
Pradesh. He is posted in the Chief Minister Office, Arunachal
Pradesh, Itanagar as Officer on Special Duty since 2016, assigned
to look after the State Government policies on various subjects
and the transformational changes related thereto. He belongs to
the Monpa Tribe of Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
PAWAN VARMA

Pawan Kumar Varma is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute
for Global Development is a Law (DU) and Management
graduate(IMI) with a more than two decades of extensive experience
in systems and processes of development sector. He has worked
with CIET, NCERT, Government of India on content development
projects and on Information Systems of a Multinational (Whirlpool
of India) before joining the development sector with MAMTA Health
Institute for Mother and Child in 2001. He is a committed and
energetic individual who sternly believes in working for the cause of
the marginalized and under privileged.

PRITISH SONI

Pritish Soni is a banker by profession with a varied experience in the
key aspects of banking like trade finance , international banking,
corporate and project finance SME lending, retail and agri lending.
He is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and has
many more national and international certifications to his credit.
Presently he is on a sabbatical to study Masters in Public Policy and
Sustainable Development from TERI School of Advanced Studies to
quench his thirst for the discursive discourse in the field of Public
Policy.
RAGHAV DAS

Raghav Das is currently pursuing a second Master`s in Public
Policy at NLSIU . His research has a specific focus on Renewable
and Clean Energy Technologies and it`s implications for Indian
society.   His  prior    work   experience     involved  business
development      and     implementing    projects     on   Waste
Management, Education and WASH among others.

SALONI MODI

Saloni Modi is a resident of Kota, India. She has a Master of Arts
in Economics from Amity University, Noida. Professionally, she is
an English subject teacher in Emmanuel Mission School, Kota.
She also works as a freelance Content Writer and Tutor. She also
serves as the Vice President Education at Bodhi Kota
Toastmasters Club, which is a part of Toastmasters International,
a Non-Profit Organization aimed at enhancing communication
and leadership skills of its members. Her keen interest in the
field of Cross Country Culture and to understand how a region
can    be   grown     Socially, Economically,     Politically and
Technologically lead her to be a part of one month Study Abroad
Program in Birkbeck, University of London where she studied
Global Business Program. She wishes to learn more about the
copacetic governance steps in Singapore and thus, looks
forward to be a part of the WGE Singapore 2019.
SARTHI MANCHANDA

Sarthi Manchanda is a doctor by profession. After completing his
MBBS degree, he went on to work for a short while in Hospital
Administration and Quality Assurance before realising his
education may not be adequately in line with his ambition. With
an astute analytical mind, he wishes to transform the world of
healthcare, and as such is pursuing Post-Graduate courses and
diplomas in Medical Law and Ethics, and Data Science and
Machine Learning.
While his primary interests lie in Preventive Mental health and
Medical Education, in his free time he's learning French, the
Djembe, and also likes to dance and bake.

SREEJA KUNDU

Sreeja Kundu is a business journalist at Mint with over two years
of experience in policy research. She has explored the art of
policymaking in various institutions through her internships and
work experiences. Her stint at The Office of U.S Senator Kirsten
Gillibrand brought her close to understanding policies at the
grassroots level where she has worked closely with the
constituents of New York. Her work at the Ministry of Electronics
and IT enabled her to understand the practical implications of
policymaking where she has contributed to research projects
and government campaigns. With the WGE, she hopes to grasp
the best practices of policymaking that contributes to
Singapore’s growth model.
SURYABHAN HEMANTRAO JADHAV

Suryabhan is a Development Associate with Vision India
Foundation working on electoral politics. An aspiring political
leader and grassroots worker, Suryabhan has closely worked
with tribal communities of Gujarat and with the Government of
Rajasthan. He has successfully mobilised local communities and
led developmental initiatives in his constituency - Satara,
Maharashtra such as making his village, drought-free region. He
previously worked in Gandhi Fellowship, for strategically helping
government school headmasters to build their capacity as
leaders also supporting teachers improve learning outcomes of
children   and  engaging    with   communities     on    multiple
development projects.

SWAPNIL GAWANDE

Swapnil Arun Gawande is a Trustee and Secretary of Deesha
Education Foundation, a non-profit based out of Amravati,
Maharashtra. He started a chain of Deesha Eye Banks in various
districts of Maharashtra and facilitated around 3700 eye
donations. He also started a chain of Mobile Eye Care Unit for
providing eye care to remote and rural areas. He is also working
with Government of Maharashtra and Central Government in
various capabilities to revamp various policies in healthcare
sector. Swapnil is a international violinist, disciple of Padma
Bhushan Smt. Dr N Rajam. He won a Gold Medal in Global
Cultural Harmony Fiesta 2010, Thailand. He is also recognized by
Association of Indian Universities (AIU) through a Color Coat in
National Youth Festival. He is a Mechanical Engineer and did his
PGPDM (MBA) from SP Jain Institute of Management and
Research, Mumbai. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in
Management domain and wants to do research in social sector.
VAIBHAV DAHIPHALE

Vaibhav is a fine blend of academic knowledge and grassroots
reality. He is a tripple degree holder from 3 different streams - B.
Tech. in Civil Engineering, B.A. in History and M.A. in Political
Science. He has worked with Dr. Abhay Bang in tribal areas of
Gadchiroli as a student, with Larsen and Toubro (LnT) as Civil
Engineer and with Chief Minister of Maharashtra as CM fellow.
He has been selected by the Union Public Service Commission in
2017 as Assistant Commandant in CRPF. He is an avid traveller,
sports enthusiast and a foodie.

VENU MARAGANI

Venu Maragani is an Entrepreneur and visiting faculty in
Hyderabad for management graduates and students of
Legislative Law. He has close to 10 years of comprehensive work
experience in the fields of Electronics and IT. He has served at
senior roles with organisations such as Inter globe technologies,
IBM, QUALCOMM, India Health Care Solutions, Merritonix pvt ltd
in India from last few years. He founded the Venvik Consulting,
working in domains of infrastructure – engineering services
(Electrical, firefighting, security and construction), Information
technology, Digital marketing and trading of electronics .He has
been active in social space and improving his knowledge to
contribute to nation.
YASHASVI SINGLA

Yashasvi is an Economics graduate from Hansraj College,
University of Delhi. His areas of interest are development
economics, financial economics and public policy. He is looking
forward to building a career in the domain of public
administration. Apart from academics, he has a profound
commitment to sports. He has represented Haryana state several
times in national level tournaments. In his leisure time, he likes
to travel , play football and read self-development books.

ZARNAIN FATIMA

Zarnain Fatima is a CSR and Sustainability professional with
around 3 years of experience. Currently she is the Rajasthan
State Champion for Vedanta’s flagship project “Nand Ghar”
which focuses on women and child development. Prior to joining
the project; Zarnain was a key member of the CSR team of
Hindustan Zinc Limited, Udaipur. During her stint at HZL she led
some sustainable projects including watershed & natural
resource management and women empowerment.
Zarnain is a Post Graduate in Social Work from Jamia Millia
Islamia, New Delhi. WGE’19 in Singapore will provide a platform
to understand Governance models and policies which in turn
will help her implement the best practices across nation
through CSR activities.
