       Assistive Technology Services: Assistive
  Technology Services provide equipment and devices to help
  individuals thrive in the workplace. Supports available through
  Assistive Technology Services include: assistive devices,
  equipment and technology, ergonomic supports, restorative
  supports, communication and hearing devices related to work,
  workplace access and modification and vehicle modifications.
  Assistive Technology Services are available to individuals
  who have a work-related barrier due to a disability or a
  functional limitation.

  Getting Started: Call one of our WorkBC Centres to make an
  appointment with an Employment Counsellor and check your
  eligibility for Assistive Technology Services. Port Alberni – 250-724-4560, Ucluelet - 250-726-
  4243 or Tofino - 250-725-8805.

      Skills Enhancement Training Services:
  Skills Enhancement Training Services assist eligible clients
  to obtain the skills necessary to obtain employment through
  participation in training that may range from Adult Basic
  Education and Academic Upgrading to Occupational Skills
  Training and Short Duration Training. Training may be
  delivered by either a public training institute or an accredited
  private training institute. Eligible case-managed clients can
  also receive financial supports to assist their training needs.

  Getting Started: The first step is to make an appointment
  with one of our Employment Counsellors to confirm your eligibility. Give us a call at 250-724-

 Employment Skills Workshops
Beginning the first week of February, 2021,
WorkBC Port Alberni is again inviting all WorkBC
clients to join us for some skill-building Zoom
workshops from the comfort of your home.
In our first release of interactive virtual workshops
we are offering Re-Energize Your Resume,
Confident Cover Letters and Interview Intelligence,
all of which include covid-friendly versions of our
most popular workshops.

Workshops are free to join, all you need is an email address, internet connection and a quiet
place to learn.

All workshops are catered to be 1 hour or less in length with opportunities to ask questions. We
offer all workshops weekly so there are many options to participate in a way that works for your
schedule.

 Virtual Hiring Fair – Statistics Canada
Join us for an online video information session with
Statistics Canada on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021 at 1:30
p.m. to learn about the job opportunities to help with
Canada's 2021 census.

Canada’s next Census of Population will take place
between March and July in 2021. Statistics Canada is
hiring approximately 32,000 people across the country,
in every community including Port Alberni, Tofino, and
Ucluelet. In the current context of COVID-19, Statistics
Canada is committed to hiring locally and ensuring the
safety of their employees and our community members
at all times.

Staffing opportunities:
     Crew leaders (supervisory): train, lead and supervise a team of enumerators; monitor
        the progress and productivity of your team; receive and ship questionnaires and other
        census documents.
        The rate of pay for Crew Leaders is $21.77 per hour, plus authorized expenses.

   Enumerators (non-supervisory): collect questionnaires from households; capture
       addresses and drop online questionnaire invitation letters; and follow up with
       respondents.
The rate of pay for Enumerators is $17.83 per hour, plus authorized expenses.

WorkBC Port Alberni will be hosting this session to help you learn about the jobs and the hiring
process - open to everyone in the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District.

    The Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council (NTC) is a not-for-profit
     society that provides a wide variety of services and supports
     to 14 Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations with approximately 10,000
     members.
