Principal’s Perspective

Dear Friends and Family of Holy Cross,

It is with great pride that we begin our 10th year as
Holy Cross Regional Catholic School. I present to
you the State of the School Highlights. This report
includes the financial report from the 2020-21 fiscal
year, as well as our highlights from last year and
additional information about our amazing school.

This past year presented many challenges as we
navigated through the Pandemic. Our faculty and
staff were committed to providing our students
with in-person education five days a week. Working
together with our parents, allowed us to keep Holy
Cross open and thriving. We continued to adhere to
                                                                      Catholic Identity
our motto “A School United in Faith, Hope and Love.”
With prayer and perseverance, we completed our God is at the core of who we are and all that
we teach. We strengthen our students’
school year with minimal interruption. I am so proud Catholic Faith, providing the foundation
of our Holy Cross Family. necessary to live as disciples of Christ.

When faced with adversity, we came together! • Students attend Mass every First Friday

Academic Excellence
Holy Cross has a proud tradition of Academic Excellence and
is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges
and Schools (2015). HCRCS was officially recognized by the
Archdiocese of Philadelphia for “Exceeding Academic Potential”
with its 2019 standardized Terra Nova Test Scores. Terra Nova tests
were not administered during the 2019-20 school year due to the
pandemic. The scores below are from the 2020-21 school Terra
Nova testing:

• 96% of our students scored at or
above the National Average in Reading
• 95% of our students scored at or
above the National Average in Language
• 93% of our students scored at or
above the National Average in Mathematics

Because of our dedicated faculty providing in-person instruction
five days a week, we are confident our students had minimal
learning loss due to the pandemic.

Scholarship
In the 2020-21 school year there were 50 eighth-grade graduates.
These students received $210,000 in academic scholarships
towards their high school tuition.

Neumann Scholarship
The Neumann Scholarship is a full, four-year scholarship to
any one of the 17 Archdiocesan high schools. Each year, the
Connelly Foundation awards this scholarship to approximately
40 eighth grade students across the Archdiocese. To compete
for the scholarship, 459 students qualified to the independently
administered exam, including 19 students from Holy Cross in
2020-21. Over the past 9 years, we have had 9 winners of this
prestigious award. This past year we had 1 winner who achieved
the highest overall score in Montgomery County of those who sat
for the test.

How Can I Help?
Parents are considering Catholic education for their children now
more than ever. That’s why financial assistance for our students
is equally critical. Continued commitment to EITC and ongoing
contributions to our Annual Advancement Fund are making Catholic
