3. Major fields of scholarly and professional interest

My major field of interest includes interdisciplinary analyses of low-carbon economy transitions. In
my professional practice and scholarly research I conduct multi-attribute quantitative and qualitative
analyses of climate policies against the criteria of environmental effectiveness, economic efficiency,
equity, inclusivity, and social and political acceptance, with the goal of designing long-lasting,
effective, and inclusive climate policy solutions. This field of interest applies to all of the following
sub-fields:

   1. Public opinion survey research: collection, parameterization, and statistical analyses of
behavioural survey data to explore public support for climate policy, economic growth, and
consumer preferences for low-carbon technology, to design targeted policy proposal and
      communication techniques.

   2. Comparative policy analysis: cross-jurisdictional analysis of different types of climate policies
to identify best practices for implementing effective, equitable, and politically acceptable
      climate policies.

   3. Energy-economy modelling: development and use of technologically explicit and behaviorally
realistic energy-economy models to assess economic and environmental impacts of climate
      policies and design policy proposals.

   4. Public policy development: academic and applied public policy-making, including the
development of policy options and decision materials, governance processes for the
implementation of policies and legislation at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels.

   5. Teaching and mentoring: developing course curriculum and engaging in thesis topics that
address the issues of low-carbon economy transitions, climate policy design, equity, and
      inclusivity.
