Welcome
to the Stuttgart Region View over Stuttgart
Fascinating and beautiful, cosmopolitan and charming,
traditional and future-oriented: the diversity of the Stutt-
gart Region makes it worth visiting more than once. Its
economy and its culture are equally thriving – whereby
the one is often interlinked with the other, as in the case
of the world-famous automobile brands whose names
are synonymous with the Stuttgart Region.
There‘s something to gratify all the senses here. Bril-
liant achievements are evident at every turn: castles
and palaces bear witness to a great past – and bold,
futuristic architecture to an equally great present. The
fine arts have always been given ample room to flourish,
and many visitors are astonished at the wealth of out-
standing gems which the Stuttgart Region has to offer.
The regional cuisine also has much to delight, and the
famous Württemberg wines are
the ideal accompaniment to its specialities.
So welcome to a particularly pleasant part of
the world: welcome to Swabia!

“Historical Festival 2018“ in Stuttgart
26th September – 3rd October 2018
In 2018 Stuttgart is to celebrate a double jubilee
with a Historical Festival: 200 years of the Stutt-
gart Beer Festival and 100 years of the Agricultural
Show. From 26th September to 3rd October 2018 on
Palace Square – framed by the Königsbau and New
Palace – the city will commemorate the founding of
the biggest festival in the state by King Wilhelm I of
Württemberg and his consort, Queen Katharina.
“We are planning a memorable excursion through
the many facets of our festival‘s history,“ says
Andreas Kroll, director of the in.Stuttgart Veranstal-
tungsgesellschaft. Palace Square provides the ideal
setting with its Jubilee Column. This will be festively
decorated in the style of the Fruit Column, the
festival‘s traditional symbol, as befitting the Harvest

Artists, jugglers and actors will vie for the public‘s at-
