Burren Gold Cheese
The Farm Shop at Aillwee has
been the production site for the
award winning Burren Gold Cheese since 1985.
Milk for the farmhouse cheese is sourced from a neighbouring
farm, where their Friesian Dairy Herd graze the unique rich
grasses and herbs of the spectacular Burren region of North
County Clare. Burren Gold is a firm textured Gouda style cheese
with a rich creamy taste. It comes in a variety of flavours —
Plain, Smoked, Cumin, Garlic & Nettle and for something a little
more exotic-Piri Piri. Why not pop in to the Farmshop and taste
some delicious Burren Gold Cheese! You may even be lucky
enough to see the cheese maker at work.
