Final email sent to all registered racers, crew, and captains:
The past 250 events have just been preparing you for this. You’ve dreamed about this. You have hounded us about this. Now it’s time to make it
a reality. It’s time to race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway!
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited, that this was just another event. I’ve been to many new tracks before, even really nice ones, but this is differ-
ent. This is racing history. Dare I say - hallowed ground? As you arrive, take it all in. Appreciate all the racing that has happened before you and
then get ready to make racing history of your own. Read on to get some information to make your arrival as smooth as possible.
Gates - The main gates to enter the infield (Gate 2 tunnel) will open at 9am on Friday, July 12th. Teams must check in and get a parking pass
before being escorted into the track in groups by the local sheriff. These gates will be open until 9pm each day. If you arrive Thursday night, you
can park your trailer across from the track in the staging lot, but be advised that this area is not secured or patrolled. Please study this map so
you know where you are going. We will have signs inside the track, but study this anyway.
Paddock and Parking - All vehicles entering the infield must have a parking tag hanging from their mirror. Tow vehicles renting a garage will get
a BLUE tag. Tow vehicles without a garage will get a GREEN tag. Personal cars will get a RED tag. Each race car entry will get One (1) BLUE or
GREEN tag plus Two (2) RED tags. Please plan accordingly. Team vehicles in excess of the three vehicle limit will be issued a YELLOW tag and
will park in the overflow lot by the museum. Indianapolis will strictly enforce the parking restrictions.
If you rented a garage, proceed with your tow vehicle into the garage area and unload your car and equipment as quickly as possible into your
assigned garage. Once complete, take your tow vehicle and trailer to either the large or small trailer drop as noted in the parking map. You may
leave your tow vehicle in the lot all weekend, or use it as your transportation all weekend, but you will always park in the lot that corresponds
with your parking tag.
Camping - Camping is not allowed inside the Indianapolis oval. If you plan on camping this weekend, you will need to call the campground
outside the track owned by the American Legion at 317-244-9625. Reservations required. This applies to RVs and tents. No one is allowed inside
the track after 9pm for any reason!
Pit & Garage Assignments - See pages 11 and 12.
If you would like a garage and forgot to select one when you registered, we still have some open garages available. Email info@champcar.org to
reserve one and I’ll reply back with your garage number. After Tuesday, July 9, 2019, please purchase garages from registration if they are avail-
able.
Transponders - If you entered a transponder number (or entered anything really) while you were registering we assume you’re bringing your
own. Please verify that you have entered the correct number or that you reserved a transponder if you’re not supplying your own. If you use a
subscription-based MyLaps X2 transponder, make sure your subscription is current. When your subscription ends, the X2 will not count laps!
Tech - All cars will need to be tech’d for 2019 unless you’ve had your 2019 annual tech completed. Bring all your paperwork filled out and make
sure you have read the rules. Swap cars with no paperwork will likely be put in EC. Tech opens at 10AM on Friday in garage 1C/32C. Decals will
be handed out at Tech and will be required to pass tech. Decal locations are shown in the BCCR appendix.
Registration - Make sure you tech first, then bring your yellow logbook and tech sheet signed by us directly to registration. Before you arrive,
log in and check your driver roster for accuracy. Make any corrections ahead of time. If you are fully paid with the correct drivers, check-in is a 3
minute process. If you are not coming (work issue, car issue, etc), email me to let me know you will not be there.
Pit Lane Setup - Teams will be allowed to set up their pits between 12PM and 6PM on Friday.
Sponsors - Tire Rack will be on hand to award another $800 gift certificate for tires to a lucky winner and Money Shift Racing will be trackside
supporting your need for parts you forgot to pack. We’ve also got numerous local companies who have donated items to be given away to race
teams.
Pictures - There will be no track walk this weekend, but if your team would like your picture taken at the Yard of Bricks, photos will be taken from
4-5PM Friday. https://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/at-the-track/yard-of-bricks-pagoda/yard-of-bricks
Event Shirts - We have a limited number of special event shirts available for purchase at the track for $25 each. These can be purchased at the
Pavilion where Registration/Race Central will be all weekend.
ChampCar.Live - If you will have your own live feed to YouTube, Facebook, or some other site, please share your feed with us by filling out the
LiveFeed form at https://ChampCar.org/livefeed
You can share our live show with friends and family by using the www.ChampCar.live URL. That will take you to the ChampCar.live YouTube page.
A reminder: read through and print out the Supplemental Rules for this event here.
If you have any questions you can contact me - info@champcar.org.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all in Indianapolis!
