Legislative Win for SCCPMA!

SCCPMA passed legislation to exclude buydowns from the state’s sales tax
 saving South Carolina retailers from having to charge, collect and remit this
            new tax that was set to go into effect on July 1, 2021.

Click here SC Information Letter #21-12 to read the Department of Revenue’s
    formal announcement that as a result of the new law championed by
SCCPMA, they are formally withdrawing Revenue Ruling #20-3 “Buydowns –
 Tobacco Company Payments to Retailers” and Information Letter #20-35,
 “Buydowns – Tobacco Company Payments to Retailers – Effective Date.”

           This nearly two year battle with the DOR is finally over!
