                     May / June 2018 - Our 85th Year

               Commander’s Message
                                                                        Memorial Day
It seems as though my time as Post Commander is
quickly coming to an end. The past two years have
been a wonderful experience. I would like to thank all
of the volunteers and officers that have worked
tirelessly to ensure our post runs efficiently. I will
continue to work with post members and officers and
advise the next Commander when I can.
Looking to the future, we have post elections coming
up at the May Membership Meeting. If you are
considering running for an office, please contact Pat
Miller, Kirk Trieber or Vernon Wilkens. Becoming
more involved on your post is a very rewarding
experience, plus you get a chance to work with some
great people!

We received this thank you letter from
the young man we are sponsoring for
         Boys State this year.
Thank you very much for sponsoring me for
Boys State this year. I am excited about the
opportunity to be exposed to the leadership and
legislation process of local governments. I
believe this experience will be a great asset in
my life.
Having many family members that have served
in the military I appreciate the work that the
American Legion does. I will make sure to work
very hard and represent Post 109 well. I am
looking forward to the orientation on June
12th. Thanks again for this opportunity.
