Meet Our New Board Team
Andrea Jackson, Board Chair Patrice Dolan, Board Vice Chair
Meet our new Board Chair, Andrea Jackson. Andrea has served on our Board
since 2016 and enjoys the uniqueness of our organization. She states, "Once
you share the compelling mission of Power of Flowers Project with others,
everyone can't help but support it. I feel that my being a part of this
organization, is making a difference." Andrea is a Lowell native, married
with two children. She looks forward to working with her fellow board
members, volunteers and staff to elevate the visibility of our organization.
Patrice Dolan remains the Board Vice Chair for another term. Joining the
organization in 2015, she continues to be active in our mission. Patrice lives
in Chelmsford with her husband and three children. The Dolan family lends
much support through the donation of flowers from their Funeral Home in
North Chelmsford. Patrice states, "As I look toward a new year, I am full of
gratitude for our amazing volunteers, donors, and community that have
continued to support our mission."The Flower Chronicles
A Winning Combination!
With limits on gatherings during the pandemic, The Power of
Flowers Project has seen a decrease in flower donations. To help
supplement our floral supply, we will be working with a new local
non-profit, GROW, to spread joy in the best way we know--through
flowers! GROW will be seeding, growing, and donating flowers to
our organization to help us continue our important work.
Beautiful Snapdragon Flowers
GROW is located on the grounds of the Tewksbury State Hospital Campus
grown and donated by GROW
and has renovated the abandoned greenhouses that sit on the property.
Their mission is to introduce therapeutic benefits of gardening, plant-
related activities, and nature to improve personal well-being. Bob Baden, a
long-time gardener, and the Project Director, works with at-risk adolescent
males to help them achieve their goals.
Our new collaboration is a great opportunity for the boys working with
GROW to give back. In fact, they recently began seeding for flowers needed
to create our signature bouquets. The boys are thrilled to apply what they
have learned in class and take pride in supporting a local non-profit. It’s a
WIN – WIN for all!

Meet Laurie, a volunteer since 2019 and our flower pick-up
superstar. She is always willing to lend a hand for last minute pick- Volunteer Corner
ups large or small. Laurie lives in Tewksbury and enjoys everything
to do with the outdoors (Skiing, Kayaking, Bicycling, Hiking and
Walking). In her free time, she lends her Tenor voice to the Ipswich
River Community Chorus in North Reading. She is grateful to
volunteer with the Power of Flower Project as it has given her an
outlet to learn about the variety of flowers we rescue. Laurie touts,
"I enjoy helping the community in need in a way that can brighten
their days with the simplest of gesture."

Mail Delivery Has Been A Problem
It has come to our attention that some of our mail is being returned. Despite numerous attempts to
correct this issue with the US Postal Service, we continue to hear from people whose letters to us have
been returned. We ask that when corresponding with us please use ONLY the following address:
The Power of Flowers Project
P.O. Box 294
Tewksbury, MA 01876
(DO NOT include the East Street address)
If you have sent us something that has been returned to you,
we apologize and ask that you please let us know. Thank you!
A Picture Tells A Story
We are often asked how many signature bouquets
can you create from a floral donation?
Here's is an example created from two recent donations:
48 arrangements, donated from two funerals,
allowed us to create 288 signature bouquets
that were delivered to
Our Van Full with
four care facilities in our service area!!
