In the Spirit of Service
The Giant Laughing Kookaburra is a labour of love and a
tribute to the contagious power of joyfulness and a
celebration of the strength of the human spirit. Dr
Farvardin Daliri OAM created the 4m tall sculpture,
including realistic audio, to bring laughter and smiles to the
faces of people all over the world.

With over 30 years of experience in youth education and
community development, Dr Daliri has earned his
reputation as a master educator and a truly engaging
presenter.

With the Giant Laughing Kookaburra in tow, Dr Daliri visits
schools all over Queensland, delivering arts-based
workshops, mindfulness and resilience training, as well as
social cohesion and anti-bullying sessions. Dr Daliri can
offer a short visit with a Q&A session, or a whole day of
tailored content for different year levels.

The Back Story
As an artist, educator, community development professional and
mindfulness trainer, Dr Daliri knows all too well the importance of
lifting people’s spirits and connecting hearts, especially when
faced with the changes and challenges during the COVID-19
pandemic.

Soon after creating the Giant Kookaburra it became apparent that
Dr Daliri’s act of service had struck a chord with audiences all over
the world when a video of its maiden trip went viral, featuring in
the New York Times, CNN, British Daily Telegraph, Triple M radio
Australasia network and Australia wide tv, print and radio.

    “Laughter is therapeutic and a
   kookaburra’s laugh is contagious;
everyone joins in and I want to drive
around to cheer up the whole town.”

 - Dr Daliri tells Atlas Obscura @ Buzzfeed

A Kookaburra, a Koala
and a Cockatoo...
No, that's not the start of a classic Aussie joke, but it's definitely a
recipe for lots of laughter and a platform for building social
cohesion and raising community spirits.

The Giant Laughing Kookaburra and Banjo the Koala have been
visiting hospitals, aged care centers, shopping centers and public
parks up and down the coast of Queensland, and people have
been absolutely LOVING it!

With your support, Dr Daliri would now like to add a third
Aussie icon to this already world famous dynamic duo....

Schools, Hospitals, Aged Care
Homes, Shopping Centres and
Public Events
Over the past few months, Dr Daliri has driven more than 8,000
kms and visited over 200 schools, nursing homes, hospitals,
markets and events. Where ever he goes, people flock for a chat, a
photo opportunity with the celebrity sculptures, and ask him when
he will be back...

...With your support, he could be back sooner, rather than later,
and with a new friend in-tow (pun intended).

You can follow the adventures of the first two larrikins

The Cockatoo
While the Giant Kookaburra is being booked through-out
2021, in response to people’s requests, now a giant talking
yellow-crested cockatoo has been designed to complement
the Giant Laughing Kookaburra, replete with suitable and
cheerful short messages of hope and joy, as any smart
cockatoo would do.

Imagine you are in a marketplace and you see a giant
talking yellow- crested cockatoo with her moving head
and neck crying out and talking with a sweet bird voice:

“G’day mate. Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year. She’ll be right mate.
Have a nice day. It's a great day for it”

These prerecorded messages and others will be played as is
appropriate to the situation, and in addition to the above
messages, we will produce promotional messages for our
sponsors and play them in between.
