                                May we feel your presence,
your comfort and your forgiveness anew.
                                You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
O God, sometimes we refuse to sit down at your table.
Forgive us and help us to see your overflowing mercy.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.
Forgive us, God, and lead us into your house.

      We deserve God's condemnation.

God makes us heirs with Christ of the covenant.
Like a mother who will not forsake her nursing child,
like a father who runs to welcome the prodigal home,
         God is faithful still.

Annual Andrews Elementary Supply Drive: Shh! School is just around the corner but don’t remind the students and teachers!
It is time for our annual collection of school supplies for Andrews Elementary. Our gifts of requested supplies frees up money so the
school can buy more educational supplies. Requested items: Black Dry erase markers, Gallon size Ziplock bags, standard size Band-
Aids, Kleenex. Thank you FPC for all you do for Andrews Elementary. They feel so blessed to have our support.“

Feed the Hungry Food Collection: Our church can still reach out to help those in need by donating food. Collection boxes are
located outside the church entrance adjacent to the main parking lot and all you have to do is drive by and drop off your food
donation. Thanks for doing whatever you can!

Civil Rights and Racial Justice Trip: You are invited to join a group of 20 people from the Burlington area to learn more deeply
about our country’s history of racial terror in an effort to understand the ways that racism manifest itself today, to be on holy ground
where Civil Rights activists risked (and many gave) their lives to move our country towards greater racial equity in many forms, and to
grow together in our personal and collective commitment towards antiracism within the Christian faith and in our community. The
group will leave Burlington around 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9 and will return around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13.
The trip will cost no more than $450.00 plus the cost of food. This price includes the cost of transportation, lodging, and admission/
guides for the sites we will visit. (*Note: The $450 cost is based on double-occupancy hotel rooms. Single occupancy can be arranged
and will cost approximately $300 more. Every participant must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 at least two weeks prior to the trip.
Travel will take place in two 15-passenger vans and will be together in a group for most of the trip. A $200 per person deposit is due
immediately. Checks payable to First Presbyterian Church Burlington (with “Alabama trip” in the memo line) can be mailed or dropped
by 508 West Davis Street, Burlington, NC 27215.Please contact Loy Campbell at either loyannecampbell@gmail.com 540-250-2446 if

conclude the evening around 7:30 p.m. Bring a pair of gloves and shucking knife if you have one. You will greatly enjoy the time
together and can’t beat the cost — $10 for oysters, BBQ, and beer and soft drinks! If you have questions, call Jerry Bailey (336- 270-
